@Emmanuel I am not Jenkins, but i think i can answer. It can be picked in every game, if he is not banned. The important question is will he be strong in every game. And there the answer is bit more complex - deppending on your personal skill with that hero, how many counters are in a game (AA, Lion etc) and how can you deal with them... Long story short, it can be picked in every game, but some of those games might be easier with other hero pick. (And that is basicly true for every hero...)

Just know your strength so that you don't over commit to something and start doing something stupid Read the game pattern/timing with the hero that you want to play, like for tinker power spike to happen you need that travel boots, after the boots you can go all over the lane and after you get your blink you can be more aggressive somewhere at 15-20 minutes ish

This is just why i put a numerical coefficient with a "powerspike" based on current items prior to finishing an item, and the actual situation of the game. I dont have a hard line of an equation, but it'd be relative in terms of how much more effective the hero is at this point, rather than how much efficacy they gained just as it is. There has to be a defining line here, and that's what makes my vocabulary for "powerspike" so drastically different to how many others talk about it. how others say powerspikes: "I hit the 20 minute powerspike." "I got my lvl20 powerspike" how I would say powerspikes: "Aight, got my engage tool. Now expect that i can jump and black hole people rather than having to take the few seconds to walk into place." "Witch Doctor shard acquired. Now i have an aggressive anti-jump tool that can also be used after jumping them with cask." I typically dont say everything in full sentences unless my team is coherent with English, so i shorten it a lot when in SEA Server like: "tide shard. can Anchor Smash towers now. Double pushing power vs buildings" Ofc i dont type it, i VC it to my premade party XD

I think you should add another definition/dimension to your definition of power spikes. It's not just that your item timings, levels, etc., make you strong, it's that your item timings, levels, etc., make you strong RELATIVE to enemy heroes, as well other allies that you synergise with. Then you can add that to your definition.

Very cool video, extremely difficult for a low mmr mid player (like me) to grasp because attempting (and mostly failing) bullshit outplays to flex on total strangers is literally our way of life (I tend to follow a gameplan closer to the concept of powerspikes you show us here when I play safelane p1, probably due to the mindset needed to play such role like you said back in the personality video) I think it would be incredible to make a sequel of this video digging deeper into the ideas of powerpikes and timings, like the "falling off" phenomenon, the inverse powerspike and in general the combination between concording/conflicting power state or game situation. Grats for the 100k, btw I think this animal is a racoon? idk haven't seen sunlight for the past 3 months

Jenkins ur definitely right. I try to play this game thinking of the heroes strength and ways i can be different than the other player. Topson explained similar things about invoker at mid. Especially at early levels invo cant do much. So when he was playing against an ember spirit at mid , ember spirit was constantly attacking and damaging him. Topson just hang out under his tower and said “ just stay calm and gain some levels”. After lvl 4 I think , things started to change. There was a sudden change in invo’s dmg potential and resilience. Ember spirit’s attacks became less effective even when they were at the same level. Ember spirit started to took much more damage and eventually he died almost under his own tower. I like invo a lot . But after seeing that I understood pacing is very important. You don’t need a kill very early to risk anything and you don’t need to feel overwhelmed and underperforming if your enemy holds the advantage at certain levels. Gradually weakening and going for kill is much more successful. I am thinking in pubs our teams are pushing us to do unnecessary risky things. Methodical play is the key I guess...

I'm a vegetarian and I know a lot about the attack animal sent. It's indubitably the infamous attack capybara. These are difficult times but I'm sure you will be able to persevere. Take careful note. Capybara's are dangerous but also vegetarian. Terrifying. Considering that means they kill for sport. Not to eat. What you want to do is take a cardboard box and prop up one end with a stick of celery. You want to then turn the lights on, open the door very quickly and carefully to the bathroom with the trap set, run, and secure that room. The capybara, nocturnal by nature (which is why it attacked when the box was opened), will seek out the shade of the box while eating the celery stick, trapping itself. I would wait a good few hours or until you are certain the attack animal has been caught. Once that is done, and the animal is secure, slip a piece of paper or suitably thin cardboard slat under the box and flip it to release or repackage at your leisure, ensuring to poke air holes and leave snacks inside. Godspeed Jenkins.

This is an interesting concept and can be partly applied. I think there are a few issues though: 1. This method does not work in dota as a cookie cutter which you can apply to every game. 2. Also your thinking narrows just within the box of power spikes leaving everything else out of the picture. 3. Lastly a person might be wrong about the power spikes and then just fucks up his own game.

For me power spike is a moment that you need to happen, not just you only wait for it at some time. It is earned, not given. Not because AM got abyssal in 30 mins and expect it to be effective, but against in some fair matchups, its hard to tell. Macro judgments keeps "powerspikes" remain effective, against favorable or unfavorable matches. Play on the circumstances either it starts in good or worse, not in your ideal outcome.

Hey Jenkins love your content, been watching u since the alchemy days with Relegated, Oops I meant Elevated. I rarely comment so listen up, but also Im stoned so maybe ignore everything. This is the current structure of your video as I see it = Talk about sodas establish that power spikes need to be redefined. Hint at relation with lvls/time > transition to batrider and hero mastery I believe Jenkins, that the inclusion of diet sodas hindered your judgement (understandably ofcourse} and you were unable to execute on what you had set up for yourself...Here is how, You have established that power spikes need to be measured against larger parameters than simply *I am now stronger than before*. Agreed, so what are these parameters? Where in the long line of sodas does your relative adjacent comparison lie? As a long time viewer I can tell that you were flirting with answering this, before getting severely distracted by your crippling obsession. An alternative sober execution might say that the spike (i.e position of adjacent sodas in the larger line} has to be gauged against time, and relative strength of the enemy. So an Anti-mage with a 25 min Abyssal is strong, but only because the enemy is most likely weaker and poorer at this time. An equally farmed pa showing up at 25 mins would quickly end the AMs glory. This is also why counterpicks are strong, because their timings tend to counter the hereos natural timings, e.g hunting am with deso or duel midgame. That is where I thought you were headed.. Also may I reccommend Ultra Sour by Namaste. Keep up the good work! Regards, Another Soda Addict
