if you are on dire and have a pudge on your team, there is a backdoor trick that you can do. its above the bottom tier 2 tower. you have to destroy it first. you then sprout a single creep from your wave and order your pudge to hook it high ground. then the creep is stuck. then the pudge has to hook it again behind the tree lines toward enemy tier 3. if you do it correctly the backdoor protection will be disabled and you get to slowly take every towers and rax for free.

The creep wave drag is something I've been doing a very, very long time. Back in the day you could sprout lane creeps and they'd just stop walking. Other tips: TP into their base, kill all their couriers. Nothing sets the tone for a game like doing this at 3, 10, and 25 minute. You can TP into the tree line of enemy base and also place wards in there without showing yourself. Use buyback- once you have instilled fear in the opponent, they will celebrate the whole time your dead. A single BB when they're 4 at your base about to kill rax can absolutely ruin their momentum. BKB gambit- Often, when you backdoor the enemy for a while, they'll designate one person to stay behind. Buy BKB, and 9 times out of 10 the person who should stay behind will change, and the team will often not coordinate that transition well, if at all. Orchid is a great item because it silences for just enough time to double tap TP scroll and just leave. Sheepstick does not. To maximize backdoor time, pay attention to your TP and ult cooldowns, and don't do risky things while they're

it's because the autoattack ai tries to intelligently respond to threats, it just ain't all that smart. a key detail with doing an attack order on allied units to break aggro is that it only works if there's an ally unit that would be _prioritized_ for aggro, i.e. if there's a lane creep hitting the tower or a nearby enemy creep. so what you're doing with the attack order is effectively putting the unit with aggro at the bottom of the autoattack priority and forcing the attacking unit to find a new target, because ... well, the unit with aggro isn't attacking that unit or its allies anymore, so the ai doesn't see it as a pressing threat it being tied to attack orders ( rather than whether or not the unit is actually _attacking_ ) is likely just a simple solution to several problems most relevant to wc3, such as it being less cpu-heavy to listen to whenever an order is given as opposed to periodically checking every nearby unit and what they're up to, as well as the weird target manipulation you could end up doing to an enemy army if you could just tell a targeted unit to hold position and get every aggro'd unit to switch targets. it causes some goofy stuff in the context of dota, where there's a _lot_ of units that do nothing but autoattack and a-move across long distances, but that's just the beauty of clinging to esoteric yet predictable legacy systems made for an entirely different game

I'm having an identity crisis; been struggling with mine and would like a nail in the coffin with confidence of what heros I have on my grid and why. My previous criteria was "I should have a hero grid for all roles up to 4 heros per role that do different things." For the offlane, I have a Jump hero in CK, an area control + big team fight ultimate in Sand king, one man-fighter in LC and Axe as a second jump hero. In the carry role, I have PA as a jump hero, Luna as a big team fight ultimate, Troll as a man fight hero and Jug as a hero that has a big spell but is also useful outside of it's CD. Then my criteria changed to match my team's pace because I seemed to be consistently off pace compared to my teammates in solo que. If I found that they had big ultimates and I'm playing offlane, I'd pick Sand king just so our team fight pace matches up. Respectively, if they are fast paced heros like Huskar, Tiny, Bristle back, Orge and Drow, I could play PA and if we were already winning I would go Deso into BKB because my ultimate doesn't have a cool down and thus I could fight as often as the enemy respawns and only using BKB in an emergency. Now I'm getting enough game knowledge that the next criteria is to match critical mass with my team. Phantom Lancer is a lvl 25 hero needing many items and levels before hard committing to fights, where as Troll only needs level 20 with a battle fury/mjolnir, BKB, and one DPS item because at level 15 with both he still hits like wet paper regardless if you BKB+R at the beginning of a fight. PA can be as fast as a level 10 hero only needing the Dagger CD if their allies provide a silence and they have no dispell, but is usually a level 15 hero needing the extra evasion talent and BKB to pair it with. I would really appreciate it if you humor me by either commenting if this isn't something you'd pursue. Thanks again for the amazing content!

​@@goSuOtarU My playstyle was to aggressive push towers and farm enemy camps. And force 2+ enemies to come deal with me. And the key item was diffusal. Even as a low farm pos 4, once you get diffusal you can bully a lot of heroes. Just send illusions to burn their mana and eventually you can run them down. One of my favorite moves was to farm a camp next to enemy core farming a wave. And once they finish the wave and move to farm the camp, they get hit by 8 PLs burning their mana. As long as they dont have good AoE... After diffusal I'd kind of just be really annoing to an enemy core. Take their camps and mana. Use illusions to juke and scout so they can't really kill you easilly. So yeah, just get diffusal, farm aggressively, use illusions to scout, harass the enemy and deny farm.

The good counter to this strat is... Guess what.. Another rat hero, Lycan. If NP have this much time to get fat, Lycan should be as fat. By that time, you'd have Harpoon to counter sprout, probably Abyssal to counter tp. And tons of damage to kill Furion and his one creep. You also have the same tower pushing ability. The only issue is if your team needs you. If not, it's basically a Lycan vs NP and 4v4 game.

Can someone explain to me how it can be a good thing when you are not skipping wave(killing it) but pulling it back base. I get it when lane has no barracks but in other case as creeps are equil when you pull it back enemy creepwave will stack and lane is going to be pushed far in your direction because your creeps are going to bump on enemy tower.
