I think the problem is the high dpm of many tanks, but the gold spam is the real problem. You do not need to take time to re-position or flank heavy tanks. Hit the 2 key and negate the armor of any tank basically. I think to fix it they need to increase the premium ammo price 5X. If you fire more than 4-6 rounds, there should be no way you can make money. As it is now, as you yourself are showing, is you can spam gold all battle long and normally make a profit. Without a huge increase in gold round prices, well, get used to the new gameplay. Only other option is to change all tanks to the reduced damage for more pen, but we know how that went over when WOT tried testing it. As far as match making, the skill of the players is far more important than the type of tanks. If one team has 3 blue players and the other has 1, the high skill team will win 90% of the time regardless of tank match-up.

Supporting with an example - just got a 15-2 game where I finished with 0 damage in Tiger-Maus on Lakeville. I couldn't get in any battle due to the low speed of the tank. A platoon of 3 DZT rushed the city, wiped it and continued forward. I was a mere tourist sightseeing the wrecks of the enemy tanks...

Same with VK, 8lvl, decided to go for Maus, and understood that there is no use. Since the tank is to slow, had the same problem yesterday, 3 battles end within 3-5 minutes and you don’t do shit because your to slow. And your team just wins or other way around. You have a lot of slow teammates due to bad balance and they just push you and win the game because you don’t have any support on crucial points in the map.

@@PoolGuy-q5l its not about being poor. its literally poor design if every tank HAS to fire premium to penetrate enemies including weakspots. hell the T34 was famed for its insane base pen that although is yet to be dethroned by other heavies 248 AP just isnt enough anymore. so many tanks have so much armor that premium is required to have a chance at damage. ontop of that it eats into profits too. making the game literally pay to win since only those who pay money to be able to grind credits easier are the ones with credits to spam gold

I have over 4k average damage (the highest at tier 9) on Tortoise. It's a monster TD with excelent gun. Only real weakness is the speed but with bond turbo it's very good. You want a tank that nobody can pen? Tortoise can block a lot of damage but there are situations where you will get farmed. All in all very good TD at least for me

The turbo battles are the exact reason why I quit WoT years ago. When I started in 2011, the main selling point for me was the high variety of the battles because of the tactical aspect was so prominent. Every battle you had to constantly watch and analyse the enemy movements on the minimap and based on that make a tactic that would win the battle. Some even called it chess with tanks and rightly so :) And if you played your cards well at the endgame (yeah there was actually a meaningful endgame phase in the battles) 4-5 tanks remained from each team (usually the best players) and then the cat and mouse game began against unicums on a now opened up map(less tank on the map meant the previously nogo zones opened up), it was really WoT at is finest :) As for why and what changed this, I think there are multiple reasons that led to this but the 2 biggest ones imo are the constant powercreep of tanks (always faster, more dpm, higher alpha) and the prominence of corridor maps. Basically if you take out the tactic and just force the tanks in these tunnels against eachother, which tanks are able to kill eachother faster then ever, plus make them also faster so the tanks which won their local battles can appear faster on other parts of the map to clean up the rest, then no wonder the battles became shorter and simpler. From a thinking commander who could influence the battle, we were degraded to npc-s who either lose helplessly no matter what they do or be on a winning team where your biggest opponents are your teammates and you are racing for dmg. About WG... these kind of companies have a lifecycle, where in the first part a talented group on developers make some incredible porduct, so they start to grow big and naturally want to grow even bigger. To achieve this they start to bring in more people in marketing, management etc. whos job is to make more and more profit, problem is that these new workers know less and less about the original product and why it was succesful. Over time the priority from making a good product shifts to making more profit and the quality of the product matters less and less so long the profit is higher and higher. Also the longer this goes on the more the company loses the ability to make a good product. I only see one scenario where this tendency would stop and that is if WoT would get a direct competitor. Then their profit would shrink and they would be forced to shift their focus again to making a good product. Of course only if they still have the ability to do so by then.

Even if they get a competitor, it doesn't matter. It is in the final milking stage. The game is dying, they are shutting down the forums, minimizing costs, merging all the regions. The game will not improve, it will only get worse. They are trying to launch new games like cold war to make people transition into their new games etc. But it's actually a good idea to create a direct competitor. If it existed, a historical, tactical tank game on the basis of world of tanks, it would rock. But it needs a lots of work to create a competitor because it was a huge effort to build it up to what it is now. Programming all the mechanics, creating all the assets and designing everything. It would require huge effort.

I believe elc 90 and BZ 176 should have ebr mm where they are always matched against each other. I also think it might be possible to balance teams by WTR without significantly increasing queue times by having mm make the teams as they currently are, then afterwards swapping players from either team who are in the same role (swapping one t8 TD player from one team with a t8 TD player from the other) to balance the WTR, or 2 heavy tanks, etc). That solution as far as I assume would not require much extra queue time at all because the selection of teams would already have been done as it always had been, it would just need to be modified after the team lists had been already selected.

Yes but how you balance the BOT with 50k battles and 45% wr and 2500 personal rating?😆 Every battle 3-4 players with 0 damage and 1 or 2 shells fired. You must make mm around skill or make CAPTCHA in start of each battle and if player are bot block it to 10 or 15 minutes and spread that hp and DPM across all team (every one gets + 100 hp and +200 dpm)

I played the beta and the first year like crazy. Only german tanks and had like 5k games on my Jagdtiger with 60%+ wr. It was so much fun. I stopped enjoying the games when the french tanks came in with sll the autoloaders. Together with other problems. So it was getting bad 10 years ago already.

A very simple fix that would have a noticable impact on the quality and duration of battles would be to tweak the MM to account for subclasses, for example assault TD only matched vs assault TD, and sniper medium vs sniper medium. That way you wouldnt have games where one team gets 2x grille and 2x fv while the other gets 2x minotauro and 2x E3. It wouldnt fix everything obviously, but it would be a good first step having more balance between armored tanks and glass cannons.

This idea is in my head about a year ago. Adding something to it is that some OP tanks should have "bad" MM. For example: BZ, Borat, Skoda T56, Even90 etc. Should have +2 only. Tier 9 premiums have -1+1MM. And even further, stock heavies in high tiers should have - 2 only. This could fix soo many inbalances in the game.

If you want to know wargamings intentions with this game, just go look at the Russian server. They've managed to drive away all of the casual players, and it's nearly impossible to get into this game brand new at this point. Wargaming wants to squeeze the player base for as much money as possible, while stringing us along, making us think that they might listen to us or might fix the game. The only way to get WG to fix this game, is for us all to stop playing it.

Very well presented and said, I agree with everything! The biggest problem of this game is the manipulation created by: RNG - used solely to manipulate the results of the battle. In a battle where you achieve good results and your team wins, your tank fires and hits the target, penetrates, deals high damage, bullets do not disappear before they reach the target. If the system selects you in the losing team, everything happens the other way around: Good accuracy - you miss, you hit but don't penetrate, still ricochet, critical damage zero, you get damage to the ammunition rack, fire, etc... In this game, nothing depends on us, it serves only and exclusively to earn money by. One day you are a good player with a good result and the next few days you barely achieve 30% WR and lose 1:15

You're absolutely right. I've been playing tanks for 12 years, more or less successfully, but it doesn't matter. I'm 53 years old, I've been playing all my life, but when I started playing tanks, I finally found a game that I enjoy because of everything, primarily the pace of the game and of tactical solutions. But, unfortunately, it all comes down to faster, stronger and more powerful tanks, and it seems to me that they will lose a lot of players. I don't know how we ordinary players can change it, but I hope that the creators will see what they are doing wrong. I wish you a lot of luck and success in your future work, all the best

I was once in a game where I said "How am I supposed to 3 mark my t343 when I keep getting teams that cant even hold positions despite having the numerical advantage" And someone told me "3 marking doesnt depend on your teams performance it depends on your performance. So if you cant do it then its a skill issue" Which kinda sucks because its inherently true, but how are you supposed to get damage when you have no positions to deal damage? When your team cant do sht and just crumble instantly before you can do anything. I think WG needs to make significant design changes to maps. The corridors and small sizes of the maps gets more noticable and worse to play. Grand battle maps should be 15v15 map size, and WG needs to really invest in figuring out a solution for how most maps are corridors or only have 1 playable flank for half of the classes. When the map gets bigger the strategy becomes more important.

I have been saying this for years! 3 lane map design from CS:GO and COD don't belong in a 15v15 player game! Especially if WG isn't going to make the maps symmetrical across the lanes. This leads to clear advantages for one team over the other before the game even starts simply based on spawn. Couple that with the lack of flanking opportunities or vast no mans lands to try and flank and the result is a static map.

Great Video, you made some very good points. Sadly I dont think anything is going to change soon. The maps getting smaller and 'dumbed down' by adding obvious heavy, light/td, medium korridors feels like wargaming doesnt trust their playerbase anymore to actually want to learn a map layout. Having to differentiate between korridor 1-3 doesnt feel rewarding anymore. Those older maps had way more deepth and possibility. The older maps even had more character to them, then the new ones today. It felt more like a real tank battle and not as arcade and fast as today. They did make some good changes recently, but I also hope they continue making good changes faster. Ps. I hate those pop-ups above the slot machine and the ship in the new winter garage, it feels like the winter ops are shifting from being cozy/relaxing to becoming a mobile game.

i had some choice premiums i liked such as the strv s1, but no gold ammo or consumable spam. it's been several years now since my last login. there are so many times where playing tech tree tanks just felt unbearable and plenty of times where even in a premium tank i'd still feel borderline useless. part of it is probably a skill issue since i was never really any sort of top player by any means, just an average casual, but there was a clear cut off where i just stopped getting joy out of this game.

1. Add weakspots back in the game. 2. Remove gold ammo completely or make it cost the same, but it does less damage, let's say 75%. 3. Micropatches. A tank is overperforming, increas3 its dispersion by 0.01 and see how it is now. A week later, maybe add 0.01 more. Similarly, underperforming tank, boost dpm by 20 points, add 1 kmph to top speed. These patches should happen weekly or biweekly. 4. Stop buffing tanks. All op tanks must be nerfed obviously. But if out of 10 tanks, 1 tank is underperforming do not buff the one tank, nerf 9 tanks. That should slow the game down. 5. Stop adding gimmicks.

That's me talking in a vacuum tho, the DZT's ability to get into aggressive hulldown medium positions early on with little to no risk. If you get 2 enemy DZTs on the hill in glacier, unless your team absolutely stomps the medium line right through to their base, you immediately lose. The heavy line is instantly lost. The middle is immediately lost.

For those who don't enjoy the game but are still stuck in sunk cost fallacy, keep this in mind. You haven't invested anything in this game. The time and money you have spent in it is entirely gone, evaporated, your account is not an investment : it's a hobby. If the hobby stops being enjoyable : why would you continue ? Imagine you've been crafting a poop statue for the past 5 years and it's starting to become boring but you're not finished... it's a poop statue, it's worthless, nobody cares if you finish it or not. Same thing here. You can always come back later, FOMO is a lie, you won't miss anything if you don't have fun. Now back to work on my statue... 😉

I know it's frustrating I've been playing this game since 2010, you just have to treat it like an arcade game and don't get too serious. I play a lot of other games and it's just nice to play some tanks every once in awhile.

AMX 50 100 is a good example of an auto loader that was somewhat balanced, massive damage potential, somewhat fast but with pretty much no armour and such a long intraclip reload especially if you got ammo rack damage. Bring back the days when the skirmishes were just IS-3's, 50 100's and T32.

@ I play all the time and don’t buy premium time. Average win rate and I’ve only ever bought a bourassce and a couple tier 7 premiums. Spent $20 the last 3 Christmas’s on gift boxes. A third of my load out is always silver and I usually only play tds which I always play aggressively (aka no redline)

Everything you've said is true, me and my friends are also struggling last times and we've stopped playing - new tanks are disgousting, even more than the BZ - I am in the process of marking type 59 now so I am basicly on 2 shots for the half of team, the amount of high penetration, high alfa, unpenetrable tanks in the battle is tremendous - people with full hp are dying in the 2-5 seconds before you even can relocate to another corner, half of the both teams are camping from the places you need to take dmg in order to get them. It isn't fun anymore.

The main problem I see is they are releasing premium tanks faster than they can balance the game. How many premiums tanks get released every year vs how many tanks get balanced, how many premium tanks vs Maps Added, How many premium tanks vs Tech Tree released, single premium tank can throw not 2 but 4 tiers worth of vehicles out of balance. They Balanced the t18 TD at low tiers because it one shot other tanks but its okay for a Grom to one-shot a hellcat. The only way they can balance this game is to: 1: stop or slow down the release of premium tanks and focus on releasing more maps and balancing the tech trees. 2: MM +/- 1 for tier 4,5,6, and, 7 since the tier 8-9 premium tanks really broke those tiers 3: Get rid of the Old 5 Class system for MM and replace it with the Role System, Its Already in the Game and Wheeled Lights are already Balanced Around It.

Which for me has been incredible to discover... its like the realization that my burnout is not imaginary. The RNG killed the game for me along the rigged MM and the constant exploit of FOMO from WG. I'm glad someone brought up MM. I totally agree with tanks contributing to it, but when you have MM imbalance the skillrate, that shows the fastest. 5 guys on my team did 0 damage last night, that's not the tanks fault. 2 of them were driving Xmas tanks too, didn't even hit a tank. MM needs to be fixed before they start trying to balance other things, the MM is really starting to show its weakness in the blowouts. Clearly it was a 55% winrate team vs 45% winrate team, VERY different players. A 45% player will camp base in his Tier 10 Heavy and get 1 shot of damage before dying. This needs to be accounted for!

I have 45% win rate, but can do 3k combined with 1-2k dmg in a stock tier 8 tech tree tank. While i try to play tactical, my HTs rush one point, get steamrolled and me and 2 other MTs get ambushed by 8 tanks and die. I get a defeat when i played to the best of my abilities and the abilities of the tank at that point. The MM is a disaster rn, mean it the player wr and skill to the tanks where the Bourrasque and EVEN 90 can just camp in the mid on 55m from a tank and not get spotted.

Thiers a few issues, for capping one of the biggest problems is the winning team doesn't get rewarded for the cap which ultimately makes capping only an ultimatum for a win. Thus cap based objectives typically end up as TDM unless you absolutely need to.

Just don’t play sober around the holidays. Works for me. Jokes aside. I’ve only been playing a few years off and on. Coming from COD and battlefield it’s painfully clear that at least 1/2 the maps are too small and tight for the speed and power of the new premiums. The minute a flank falls it’s over. 3 min. Rinse repeat. That’s probably why I like frontlines so much. Room to flank and make plays.

For me and Im gonna say this. I played this holidays season just for the rewards. Not beacuse I enjoy it, but beause the rewards are so good. I know last week i had like 1200000 credits, now i have like 3500000 credits witch i think its a good thing but this is just it for this game. After evey match on the random battle mode, the credit rewards are just a joke. I allways need to use boosters and to 100% win every match to get a good amount of credits. This game right now its just about to use the premium account option, premium ammo and premium consumables, otherwise you cant play this game and have fun in the same time with standard consumables, ammo etc...

Had a battle last night. From memory the other team had 3xXM, 2xBour and 1x ELC 90. It was over well before the timer even finished, so deflating. Just not fun, more like going into a game knowing it's damage control.

What I've noticed is the massive removal of bushes and trees and added hard cover to old places you could shoot flanking fire. It isn't fun anymore by shooting from soft cover or from flanks.

The cramped size and design of the maps are much bigger issue, getting the old maps back won't change much. Maps need have more tactically important positions than 15 players are able to 100% cover, and they need more space so that fast tier 9-10 tanks can't be in enemy spawn in 15 seconds or blat you from across the map the moment you show yourself. Right now, maps funnel players into one of two or three hull down corridors, vehicles with ridiculous mobility reveal the entire team in 10 seconds, everyone is stuck blasting each other from cover with heat at 100 meters distance. Because every tactical position is so crowded, any attempt at aggression is punished, while passive and static gameplay is rewarded. Just think about how much more fun and tactically deep games become those times when you pass minute 10 and there are 4-5 tanks left on each side. It goes from retarded corridor heatspam, to 4D chess with tight team work. Every game could be like that from the start.

Being a scout main is COMPLETLY horrendus atm, 3 marked a bunch of different tier x scouts. Took a break for 1.5 year and just came back. Maps are horrendus and games ending in 4 mins is completly fucking insane. Maps are horrendus, and MM is Horrendus. My fucking god

I loved most of the old maps and I love to see them come back . What is interesting for me is that all of this map was being remove because of the winrate of 1side was so much bigger than other side and with that being said we still see trash maps that I hate from day 1 since 2014 (like mines) have not even get banished.

I used to play WoT a long time ago (when those maps that you mention were still in the game, Sacred Valley still lives in my heart) and this year I remembered that the game exists, so I tried it out for a couple of months. Honestly, I was shocked. Now, everything that matters is your damage, and how fast you can deal that damage. If your tank has some sort of disadvantage, there's basically nothing you can do, not even reposition and flank the enemy, due to the current map nature. I just ended up droping the game that I once loved because all that magic about knowing that if you are creative and smart enough you could make some difference in the game just isn't there anymore. I truly hope that WG listens to the community.

I like playing slow, heavily armoured heavies, and it's currently immensely frustrating. Even getting into a brawling position is impossible half the time - I lose most if not all of my health barely a minute after leaving the start position, usually to enemies the team hasn't even lit up. It's really not fun.

Very good video. Especially lately, my (or the enamy) team did not even bother to drive out but camp near the base and get rushed 3:15 in less than 5 minutes. Like you said a big part of this is the map design, on a good map and with longer games even the non-meta tanks could play a solid role, but now its world of heavy tanks and TDs.

If those maps came back and they cut out a few of the current ones I would consider playing again. As a light tank enjoyer I hated corridor maps too!

Dragon ridge was extreme corridor map before first physics was introduced. There was only one main playable corner where majority of both teams always came, nobody played other side and only few people would play village in the middle.

Dude, I feel you. I was grinding up the Polish Heavy line at the beginning of when the HO tanks appeared, and it was goddam painful. I cannot imagine some who tries to start playing this game without having some premiums being thrown into these new matches. Need to separate vehicles by skill or something.

I noticed that too, especially now that the MM is just really bad. First is the ELC EVEN thing, I already know that if it's an open map and we have some random Light and they have an ELC, it's pretty much a guaranteed loss. I used to be able to hold 3-4k damage per game consistently in tier IX but now I can barely break the 3k damage line. The games are just Idk, super weird and stupid. People get shot twice and they just full yolo you to get a shot or 2 off before they die etc. A lot and I mean A LOT of players with 46% winrate and 1k-3k battles etc. Game's a joke.. I played LESTA server and I'm not gonna lie, it's so much better.

At tier 3 I manage to face and have a balanced fight on equal terms, at tier 4 you get the first encounter with the stockgrind, you don't penetrate anything, from here the player notices that he has seen everything and there is no point in continuing it. I wonder when they will realize that the game with this system is unbalanced and does not allow a new player to even have fun or feel useful in the game, they are just targets to keep veterans happy and they only feel like fillers for the servers.

I was saying this years ago, it's the same every Christmas, people want to log in, fast battles to do the multiple missions for the Christmas event, and trying to max booster returns. I pretty much gave up when I left clan games, and every year play less and less and as I get fed up my gameplay drops, been in steady decline sincle quiting clan gameplay. I will do the event simply to get the rewards for Christmas, I might buy lootboxes, but I don't feel I am doing anything due to loving it, it's at a point of don't bother playing, then an event and fomo kicks in.

Yeh, I was doing fairly well in War Thunder - quite it due to CAS, but now that I see the issue WoT has - War Thunder is a far better and engaging game by miles. Will be going back to War Thunder after the HolidayOps ends in WoT.

@@SAK11RA in war thunder mm is -1+1 and tiers are 1.0 1.3 1.7 up to 12.0 now on tanks. And if a tank is too good it will move up in tier to balance it so it is very easy to balance tanks in war thunder. And you get a lot of micro updates too

this is the first year in 12 years i have spent nothing on loot boxes, the games are way too loaded on one side sometimes and the four minute battles suck, its really monetized, its like they know the game is in its last few years and are just milking it for all they can get

I think one of the biggest problems in the game currently is the lack of heavy tanks in many rounds. Games with 3 lights and 8 TDs are simply not fun to play no matter what class of vehicle you're playing. Every class of vehicle relies on there being heavy tanks. For example, if you're playing a heavy tank, you need other heavy tanks to play against. If you're playing TDs, you probably want heavy tanks to shoot at. If you're playing mediums, you can make the most of your speed and dpm. If you're playing lights, you can spot heavies and get plenty of assist. Heavy tanks are sort of the lifeblood of the game. Without them, world of tanks doesn't really work properly. I think a way to combat this could be giving an automatic bonus of +5% or +7.5% credits for each game playing heavies. I know this solution is unorthodox, but it should not make anybody angry since WG would not have to nerf other classes of vehicles. This would encourage people trying to farm credits or people low on credits to choose heavies over other classes. Imagine how much more pleasant the game would feel if there was always 5-7 heavies in the match on each team. Also, the length of each match should last longer.

The problem here is most Heavy Tanks arn' t Heavy Tanks anymore, they are HP pinatas for all gold shooting enemies. You can't play your Heavy Tank role anymore. (+ 2-3 SPG will ruine your life)

We had the TD/Light Meta in 2017 and i was glad we moved away from that with the Introduction of Progetto (more into the Med-Meta) but oh lord, theyve gone way over the Top since then. So ofc they wanted to counter it with better lights.. which just hasnt helped at all. And now were back at Square one again with even more TD's on Tier8 with TierX Guns. Game is going in circles and not really evolving.

What is really great point. I struggle to mark my 60tp only because matchmaker puts 1-2 heavies in other team, and one of them is 50b who goes to medium side of the map I have great sessions when there is 5-7 heavies in the battle tho

It already exists, indirectly. If you shoot an enemy that to didn't spot you will get only half of exp and credit other half it for the spotter. But if you shoot an enemy that you spotted (heavies) you get full exp. Most of players don't know that so they most play td

World of Tanks was going arcade since 1.0 update. WG moved it so much from 'sim-cade' that their primary competitor, which was told to never be able to suit this type of gameplay, actually suits it better now and gains in popularity while WoT stagnates at best.

Couldn't agree more with you. Enjoyed your very balanced video, well constructed and thought through. I hate these blow outs, winning or loosing. I would also say there is little point in playing heavy tanks with the power creep that has gone on (power in both speed and gun yield). A well armoured medium that can speed around and block odd shots is more useful. One way to overcome this would be to lower armour ability, when you have light tanks and indeed medium tanks rushing in against the heavy tanks without fear, what is the point of a heavy tank? Perhaps play tanks in their respective decades, a tank conceived in 1940 fighting a late 50's tank is essentially pointless. Like you say, WG would worry about wait times

The solution for me anyways is - To really not care anymore about WoT. I put a ticket on a guy who clearly cheated and they did nothing as far as I can tell. The guy has 21 battles in M26 Persh and his stats are as follows - 12 Pooles, 5 Radleys, 100% MoE rating, 8k average damage, and oddly over 200 sharpshooters. All I did was ask them to make it make sense to me. They told me they have checks in place and people can't cheat. Now I wait calmly for Steel Aces as it hits beta testing. Kajzoo you should hop on with Sofi and back this game as well. No arty, RNG is not as important, tanks fight in the eras they belong and it might have a map making ability. That is my excitement on tank games now. Hoping Steal Aces turns out to be great.

You can easily fix this if you give every tank a specific numeric combatscore and when a match starts the overall score value of the tanks have to match with the ones of the enemy.

I've played a lot of lefh and I can say the biggest problem with it is how much damage you can do without any effort. Easiest way to fix it is to probably cut the damage in half, but I doubt wg will touch a premium tank. I also agree that arty missions should not be a part of the game at all in the 279e/260 tracks (while we're at it get rid of the cap base missions too).

I recently came back to this game. I had been playing since 2012 but in the last 4 years I had been really not playing at all. I am very surprised by how few maps there are in the game now. I wish they would put a map builder like Halo forge into the game so that people can build maps and then vote on community maps to be put into the random battles rotation.

I played WOT for 6 years, I was able to notice these and more points. Because of that, I gave War Thunder a second chance (almost all of us hate the game the first time, because we are used to WOT) and I realized that if you have the right direction and start (just start to learn) in one of the 3 meta nations (Germany, USA and mainly USSR), you have a very high quality gameplay and the games are great. The problem with the planes is not as serious as people say, they received nerf in the bombs a while ago and each time we get better anti-aircraft!! The grind takes longer than in WoT, so you are always seeing new things, for example, I will get my first top tier soon, the T-90M.

@Burboss Today I'm going to get my first top tier, the T-90M. I can say that TOP TIER is much harder than 6,7 down, but it's very worth it! The ideal is to choose one of the great nations while getting good at the game, so as to go to the others.

you are right. they are stat hungry. one thing im noticing is big critical hits. always ammo racks, fires, turret or gun. crews its commander and loader. its almost never the small stuff like radio. i got ammo racked damaged 4 times in one game.... was never like that before.

I've never stopped playing on a particular day because of waiting for a match, but I have stopped playing plenty of times, even for months on end, due to bad MM, having to play stock tanks against OP premiums, and other effects of bad RNG.

Yeah... i have to say that these holliday ops randoms have seriously given me a brain aneurysm, i dont even know whats happening and im not enjoying myself at all but im playing anyways since it's the best time to grind credits for other modes like onslaught, maneuvers etc. that i enjoy way more now. About maps i dont understand why and how they dont see the issues with corridor maps that people bring up day after day, for example mountain pass rework was horrible for everything but the tanks that have armor, lights are now obsolete, meds also suffer as soon as a player with a little brain is on a heavy on the opposite team. Also the lack of maps as you mentioned, why not just rework old maps to HD, like windstorm, sacred valley, hidden village etc. (i believe they were removed since it required too much time to rework to HD) instead of coming up with a new map once every 2 years that is most likely going to end up on my ban list since its somehow going to be worse than what we already have. Equipment wise, i was never fan of equipment 2.0, tanks are faster and more unstoppable than ever. Hardening allows you to play like an idiot going around corners and you wont even get tracked for doing it anymore. Same with turbo... and i dont even want to mention CVS, i think it shouldnt be mountable on EBRs or even mediums, i'd prefer if it didnt exist in the first place. Tank matching issue is also a very clear problem. On tomatogg website you can directly tell that any tier 10 td that has some armor, like v4, e3, minotauro etc. have way higher average performance than tds without armor since they can have a direct impact in majority of the maps, and for some reason an e3 can be matched against a grille 15, wonder what the outcome will be on a corridor map... I hope tank balance becomes more frequent, glad to see wg have done some changes to tanks like the bat recently, but i feel like changes like the m48 received are totally useless, i would like to see more significant changes take place, if tank ends up overperforming the stats could be tuned down. And i dont even want to think about stun, its the thing i hate about arty the most and ive always hated it, its not fun to not be able to play the game for the next 20 seconds after an arty misses me by 20 meters. Anyways, the vid really summarized how ive felt about the game already for the past 3-4 years at least. This was a lot of chatting jesus, sorry if you read all the way down here lol

Totally agree about the equipment stuff, especially the CVS (should be removed entirely) and the stun mechanic which is a MAJOR annoyance for 95 percent of the player base and a very minor gain for the other 5 percent, its just stupid all around

Matchmaker is an issue. On the other hand, looking at your loadouts on premium tanks, I can see another issue. FULL GOLD, experimental/bounty modules, directives. With whole teams playing like this, how are we supposed to have slower games? Playing HT in such conditions is such a waste as you can't use your armor effectively... Most teams are either camping TD's or meds. Don't you see this as a problem as well. The problem you yourself are contributing heavily...

@ im a minmaxer, and the Miel is the hardest tank to mark at tier 8, which means I will shoot the best ammo. Its WGs fault that you can load full gold and not forcing you to do 50/50. When youre a maximalist you put everything in to achieve the best possible outcome.

People like you, KZbinrs that got an audience by playing how you're playing for years, influenced the masses to play like you, which in turn forced WG to do what they did with gold prices and other things. You are among the people that shaped the game, and now you're trying to look for answers why it sucks. You only have to look in the mirror.

Something that I noticed and couldn't put my finger on it, was how faster you unlock tanks. I was thinking it was maybe just an exp gain change, or I am getting better at the game but I also think that shorter matches also contibute to more exp per hour.

Hi @Kajzoo I have been playing that game since 2012 but stopped last year due to the unfair matchmaking system. I also felt that the game no longer relies on a player’s skill as it used to but rather on how much you spend monthly. Now, I am content with just watching streams and have no intention of playing it again.

12:30 no, less frequent updates in balance the better because no one wants to check patch notes every day for some now trash buff or nerf or mechanics removed. And leag is the worst example where the updates should be frequent once in 2 months. With bug fixes in between.

It’s understandable for folks who used to play long tiered matches. I understand how it doesn’t require “much skill” for a shorter period of time. However, for my I personally enjoy the smaller/shorter matches. It sucks losing 11 out of 2 times. But it’s definitely nice to keep earning funds at a quicker pace and go onto the next tank.

i knew every single map. I play this game since beta. You're really speak to my soul. Maps like secret valley got banned, just because of the physics update, where players started to abuse the map layout and climb in positions, where they were not supposed to go. I never understood, why WG never brought back old ideas and re-implement them into the game. Most of the maps played today are the same back to alpha days.....

Hi, the yt algorithm drop me this video and surprised me. 1. i never seen any of ur videos, 2. i quit playing wot for around a year. And most of the problems i have with the game are what u said, the terrible matchmaking, the many map i love but they got removed, and i have to say the idiotic tanks. I think the premius tanks in the last time are too op, i know someody pay for it but still as a free to play i many time just suffer bc of the premiums. I really like the video, it flash back some memory for me bc i played wot for 8-9 year and it feels bad that the game i really like back then, i play with suffer in the last year. Again its a good video, i hope wg will make someghing and make this game more enjoyable for u!

Yes u are on point, allso maps... i sometimes do not get some map for days, and i have none excluded. Loosing strikes 8 in a row just makes me buffled, over in minutes and 3 to 5 tanks on friendly team with 0 dmg... and this just means mm is not a priority

You mentioned a lack of winter maps. It doesn't have to be a perfect ratio, but right now we have 34 summer maps, 3 winter, and 4 desert. I almost never get to see the desert and winter camo I set up for my tanks, which kinda sucks. I feel it has almost completely been pushed out by Styles. I like some styles, but now we have a deluge of them while the core "camo patterns" are all but forgotten. It's a really intersectional, nuanced set of issues. If I were to boil it down, I'd say WG is more ambitious than they are ready to follow-up on. From the start, WoT was a big sensation. However, we had the core pieces in place: tech tree tanks, and decent maps to play them on for a starting low-skill playerbase. As time went on, player skill went up and imbalances were identified. Various features added. But there are a lot of things falling through the cracks. We still have mega-inefficient horizontal scroll for styles, camo, emblems... Every other game I play figured out vertical scrolling 10+ years ago. We also have lack of filters and sorting for anyone with a large collection of these items. QA and attention to detail seem all but absent in ways like that. If they want or need to focus on premium tanks, that's fine. I get it. However, WG must take care of the *core* aspects of the game and its interface if they want more than just monetary success.

Its not just you, me and my mates feel the same about the battles played in the last 30days. Every battle feels like you either win 15-2 or you either lose 15-2. I have to mention that I recently came back to the game after a 9-10months break. Imo the biggest issue are these high alpha unpenable tanks that can just zerg through a flank without any problem whatsoever. Another issue imo with the high alpha guns is that people just give up key positions, cuz who would want to fight a DZT with a Leo PT for example. Imo the maps could use a bit of rebalancing as well. I mostly play light tanks, another issue I encounter a lot are the unbalanced maps from a scouting POV. Take Fishermans bay for example. If you spawn north and you have a decent LT, if you take the bush in E2 its gg, the only way to dig him out is to yolo him and even if you yolo him, you might fail cuz there is a small ridge there where the tank can hide from the enemy players. Another good example is Malinovka H2 bush line. Its easier for the north spawn to take it, the LT from can hide better in case something goes wrong. Since I returned to the game, I learned that there is a CZ light tree. I think that CZ LT should only be matched only agains another CZ LT, just like EBR will be matched with another EBR. I've been on the both sides of this, lets imagine you are on Proko, one team has an ELC and the other one has a Squall. The chances of winning for the team with the ELC are waaaaaay higher than the team with the Squall. Some might say that "ye bro these are skill issues" and I agree, they might be, however, most of us are average Joe's playing 1-2h every other day.
