The Parking Garage is one of the best episodes of the show. Fact: The original ending was supposed to have them driving off in the car, but when Michael Richards turned the key, it wouldn't start, and if you look close, you can see Jason Alexander laughing in the backseat. Everyone loved it, so they kept it in.

Michael Richards was actually carrying a real AC in that box. He wanted the box to have actual weight to it so it would look real when he was struggling with it. When he put it in the trunk, he didn't mean to hit his face, He actually bruised his lip so bad they had to wait a couple days for the swelling to go down before they could film again! Then the car not starting was real and not scripted. You can see Gerorge and Elaine laughing in the back of the car as Kramer is trying to start it. Both things were so funny they decided to keep them instead of reshooting.

During outtakes, the Bookman actor and Jerry Stiller scenes were the hardest to get through for the cast without laughing. Also, the car not starting was, unbelievably, a happy accident. If you look closely, you can see the cast laughing in the car because they couldn't believe it was happening

Fun fact: The car was actually supposed to start, and they drive off. But they bought a cheap car for the end scene, and the engine just wouldn’t turn over. So the end of the episode was unscripted, but it was so funny that they kept it (you can actually see the cast cracking up in the car over the fact that the car wouldn’t start).

17:17 Killer Kowalski really was a wrestler and what Kramer said about him doing a special move (special for the time as he wrestled from the late 1940s to late 1970s) called the Kowalski claw, aka the stomach claw or stomach vise. I think about this when watching Liar Liar when Jim Carrey playfully does the claw bit with his son. After he retired, he became a trainer until his death. His most well known student would be Paul Levesque, aka Triple H.

The library cop was one of the best extra characters. His monolog was hilarious. Mr. Bookman... 😜 I had an eye doctor named Dr. Ball..... 😲 .. Eye Ball. 😂 In the parking garage episode .. the final scene was not in the script. Kramer failing to start the car .. was unscripted. The car just didn't start. You can see them laughing in the car ..after a long day of shooting the episode. It turned out to be the perfect ending.

I remember a bunch of us looking for our cars in a parking garage after a Grateful Dead concert in 1977. Everyone was high on LSD and nobody could remember where they parked. Every once in awhile you’d hear someone yell here it is. Eventually we all figured it out. It was comical.

I had a similar experience at an outdoor parking lot. I had an elderly woman say she can’t remember where she parked and if I’d help drive her around the lot. It was over 100 degrees outside that day so I said sure. We found it but I thought if she told her family what happened they’d be mad at her. An elderly woman getting into a car with a stranger is a scary scenario in this day and age. I was glad it all worked out.

They are really just moving one car to another spot, and repeat cycle. -Their car was originally supposed to start and just drive off. -The car is visibly shaking from Jason, Jerry, & Julia laughing hysterically...Julia more so from Michael slamming his head on said real air conditioner.
