I LOVED Wednesday stepping forward to allow her Mother to hug her only for Morticia to air kiss her. Morticia desperately wants to hug her daughter, Wednesday knows this and was willing to let it happen even though it makes her uncomfortable. Morticia knows her daughter doesn't like physical contact so the offer of a hug was enough for her. She respected her daughters boundaries even when given permission. That moment showed how much they both love each other.

for me they are one of the few low points in the series. Where Carolyn Jones and Anjelica Houston manage, in very different ways, to convey control and supressed emotion through their performances, Zeta-Jones utterly fails in the brief. She comes across, to me at least, as flat, as if she took the direction "show no emotion" to it's illogical conclusion. Compare this to Jenna Ortega's s ability to convey most of her inner monologue with minimal facial expression. I have nothing against Luis Guzman, to be honest, I've not seem him in much, but compared to the manic energy of John Astin or the chaotic-neutral Raul Julia, I couldn't like his Gomez,

As far as I can tell, Bianca hasn't really done anything wrong, but almost every reactor thinks she did. Using her powers to get into school and away from a cult, if that's what happened, is forgivable. If her powers acted on Xavier, it wasn't intentional. Wednesday challenged HER on the first day of school and was defeated. The race had no rules. Any attitude she had toward Wednesday is turned into support after the dance.

Oddly enough, the original actress cast as Miss Thornhill was Thora Birch. Typically, Thora threw one of her famous tantrums and pulled out before all her scenes were shot. They had to rapidly recast her, and luckily Christina Ricci was available. They were able to salvage the scenes Thora shot by using all that didn't show her face and dressing Ricci in the same wig and costume for the rest of the shots. Hence the reshoots weren't terribly onerous. I would have loved to see Thora in the part, but Christina is excellent. I'm content.
