Hi Jenna! The cracks in the clay are caused by the the water you applied during molding! It's totaly normal! It usually happens when we need to use a bit more water which causes the clay to expand, so when it dries it srinks again and cracks. P.S. I love your comicality!

I remember when the "smiley face" came to the party. Back in the 60s and 70s the Hare Krishnas created the icon and put it on buttons and bumper stickers, I think. They dressed up in their 'Saffron' garb, danced around and sang and drummed at the airports, and handed out these items. I only remember them at LAX..and soon they had a settlement/store in Culver City, and parades in Venice, occassionally. They were quite showy and colorful. Always prosletizing, they got many young people to join them. It was a time of unrest, and cults. They started the smiley face, and I think, the saying, "have a nice day." It's the reason many of us older folks, don't like either the saying or the symbol. Now it's integrated into everyday life; creepy to me, but seems that people use it everywhere now. If you lived those days, you'll know what I mean. If not, it's probably just another part of life. My generation will be gone soon, and it's going to be up to the next generation to keep the history going. This is just one thing that has led to the extremes. Some Christian families started to see their kids going off with these religions, and cults, and things got tense. So much has changed in my lifetime, and will continue to change, but I always remember the saying, "Those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it." Jenna. I love your channel, and I know that you're not trying to do anything by using the so called "smiley face," but it's kind of like any symbol. It's good to know where it came from, and make an educated decision.

Oh nooo Jenna!!! Why didnt you put some paper or tarp down on the floor before painting? 😱 My inner OCD is screaming. I really like the outcomes thoguh 🤗
@kat.a.l2 жыл бұрын
Hey just a heads up please don't use the phrase OCD when you mean organised or clean. OCD is actually about repetitive intrusive thoughts of something bad happening if you don't complete a compulsion and is really horrible to have. It's often misunderstood because of the stereotype that it just means you like to be neat.
@brainstormedperson1322 жыл бұрын
@@kat.a.l I am sorry if it came across wrong, I am actually diagnosed with a weak form of OCD. In me, it is that I hate when people/myself treat their belongings badly and don't organise their things. I break down in tears when my boyfriend doesnt put his dishes in the right place in the dishwasher for example. I also count things a lot, when I am knitting I have to count my stitches in steps of ten and if I didnt, I have to go back. So the paint on the floor actually made me feel very uncomfortable. The diagnosis is still new to me and I am trying to deal with it, manage it better and learn how to not offend others who have it in a more pronounced form than I do. So thanks for the heads up anyways! Keep doing what you are doing, I think you are helping people understand 😊

Tip for creating volume when sculpting without putting too much weigh, use recycled paper and masking tape or paper strips with glue if making paper mache to create the form and put a flattened sheet of DAS or paper paste, some use foil but it’s too wasteful and recycled foil sound unhygienic to me
