Not even sure how that's legal at all? It's crazy to me that you can buy a gun as a gift for a minor who can't legally purchase one themselves... You can't even buy weed or alcohol for a minor. If you're not old enough to buy a gun you shouldn't be legally allowed to even use a gun. Period.

Buying the gun for their mentally ill minor, not locking the gun up, ignoring his cries for help/not getting him help with his mental health. There's a lot of incriminating things here. Refusing a child medical care is illegal! If her son had an appendicitis and didn't take him to a doctor right away, she would be responsible. Just like when he was seeing demons and told her he was hearing voices, she bought him a gun and then he wrote "the thoughts won't stop" with stick figures shooting people on his school work and she told the school she wasn't going to have her sons mental health evaluated, she is completely responsible. I'd almost go as far to say more responsibile because Ethan was a minor forced to handle his mental illness alone. He wasn't equipped to handle that. And then here's his parents putting the gun in his hands. I'm sure in his mentally ill mind that was his green light to act on his thoughts.
@SusieQ1971
@SusieQ1971 6 ай бұрын
@@chrissyscholl816Where is the evidence that the mom told the school she refused to have her son evaluated? The school asked her to have him evaluated within 48 hours just before the shooting took place. The school allowed her to leave Ethan at school. Then he shot up the school and was taken into custody. There was no refusal to get him evaluated. Unless there was a prior date before the day of the shooting where they asked and she didn't follow through with getting him an evaluation. And BTW I think the mother messed up but that dad did even worse kept leaving the gun out and unlocked so Ethan could get to it. They really weren't going through his notebook or backpack looking for what's going on with him even after previous calls from the school.

They have to prove they should have known thier son was in a bad place mentally and shouldn't have had access to a gun, much less be given one. That they should have known all of this and done more when they saw the drawing at school (take him home, ask him if he had the gun).

I recall the judge in one video, telling the defense she knew the defense was an experienced attorney. Either the defense is totally incompetent, or she is hoping her client can later claim she did not have adequate representation. just love when DAs have zero idea of gun safety lol, she picked up the derringer, pointed it at the witness, and goes, 'is this the derringer'? yes ofc it's not loaded in that situation but anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge of gun safety knows that doesn't matter, and it's kind of ironic that they're, at the core here, prosecuting a case about gun safety and keeping guns away from teenagers..

Well it is important to note a few text messages are not the entire communications for the sake of context you could have messages with someone for years but the jury only cares about a couple of them not the whole day to day dramas indeed there could be other 15 year olds with guns that are safe and responsible with them but her son was not. It's like many teens may be licensed and responsible drivers too so their parents but them a car and they don't cause an accident and kill people but another kid gets bought a car and the parents don't care if he wears a seatbelt or speeds or drinks and drives etc. and so maybe they do kill people with their car can't say one is the same as the other. Unfortunately for responsible drivers they have to share the road with dangerous ones unfortunately for regular teens they have to go to school with violent ones that have negligent parents that give them guns and then the regular teens may get shot. That's the world we live in unfortunately having to interact with people we would rather not.

These parents are not the son and further, this lengthy process is the punishment ...! The system already took everything these parents had. Their home, vehicles, life savings and raided all their possessions... Bills haven't been paid, credit cards are overdue and these parents have nothing left to take from, or home to return... Either way, the system utterly destroyed these parents lives for eternity... This is not justice! The prosecutor’s narrative is darker than her shadow...!

The texts prove they both knowingly purchased a handgun for their son. That is illegal. Bottom line. There is copious evidence that they did this whilst knowing he was mentally unstable and violent. All of this led directly to 4 kids being murdered by their son, with the gun they bought for him. Boom. Involuntary manslaughter.
