Jennifer Hudson doesn't "look or dress" anything liked she did when Simon Cowell said those words to her on American Idol. So if anything, Simon probably believes that Jennifer is a star today *because* of him and those words, since she changed how she looked and dressed. If he was critical of how she sung (or "everytime she opened her mouth") that would be one thing, if Jennifer still looked and dressed the same (and became a star in spite of it) that would also be one thing, but Jennifer obviously changed how she looked and maintains being a star...and anybody who believes that being a star has nothing to do with how you look, is sadly mistaken. Luther was *our* Idol, but he didn't become an "American (/Pop Music/Crossover/Grammy Award Winning/) Idol" until he "change his look and how he dressed". So what Simon said was not hate, it was just business.
