As someone who lives and has been raised in Hawaii I am so disgusted and disappointed in her nonchalant attitude to doing something so disrespectful and callous . I hope she seriously re-evaluates herself as a person and decides to change because this type of behavior isn't cute and it isn't funny and no amount of "star power" or celebrity should excuse her from being a decent human being.

She told another story on some other show about hitting a guy in a bar and she seemed to think she was in the right and was no big deal......similar attitude to this. When you are a kid and you go on a field trip and they tell you the leave the forest how you entered the forest , in terms of don't be breaking branches, and destroying things sort of concept. She prob was one of the kids that didn't listen to that.

I think this who incident will last for a very long time. there are "Hawaiians" (more like locals) who do far worse things to sacred landmarks also it wasn't confirmed if she was at a heiao or what, just that this rock is supposedly sacred. I agree she was distasteful in telling the story but, as humans, we do mess up a lot and say a lot of distasteful things we may or may not mean. Also rocks fall from mountains all the time, that's why there's nets along the mountains.
