If she ever reads this - Thanks Jen for putting yourself out there to make this movie. I never imagined the stuff created back then would still bring so much enjoyment to all of us still decades later. And like with the Hysteria song, we made things back then only thinking of then. It's incredible that it's still so good now. And popping up in Top Gun 2 was fantastic.

It's amazing, isn't it? All the ways to be connected to others these days and yet it seems like we've never been as disconnected as we are today. You can feel that disconnect in a lot of mainstream modern entertainment. There's gems buried in the dirt, but like you pointed out, there's never been as much screaming for our attention as there is today. When you see Paul Bettany talk about his wife Jennifer Connelly, you can hear a man who realizes the pricelessness of having made the kind of solid connection with someone that we all crave. Even as a very young kid I had a crush on her from Labyrinth, I find it reassuring to know she and Bettany are happy together. They say there's someone for everyone. I dearly hope that's true. Makes me think of the Coldplay lyrics, "You were an island and I passed you by/ you were an island to discover." I hope the majority of us realize our chances for discovering our "islands" for what they are when they're happening.

I watched Connelly in Maverick last night and her allure is still there. It's her eyes...her gaze expresses intensity, beauty, comfort, and intelligence at the same time. Truly a timeless and priceless woman. Of course this era of Def Leppard hits that nostalgia soft-spot super hard, too. Kudos.

@clutchmanly1147 1991, which means filming and production probably took 1.5 to 2 years, bringing the original mindset for the movie back to at least 1989... And from there it was first an idea on a storyboard, which probably was created around 1986-87. It was a movie about the highpoint of the 80's. It wasn't like they came up with a movie to highlight 1990. It was an 80's movie through and through. I was there for the decade, and it was gooooooood.

We use to drive 50-100 miles, three or four times a week playing summer baseball under the lights until 11 pm -to midnight, get in car and drive home. It was our junior and senior year, we had all known each other for ten years or more. This was our favorite album to drive to. Five to six of us in car with girls just rockin' out, full of life without a worry in the world. We didn't care, win or lose, just kick arse as hard as you could, sweat and bleed for each other and just the love of ball. It was the best time of our life, the memories are great but OMG I miss it so much. I have chills listening to this thinking of then.

Def Leppard has a winning combination so rare in Rock today. After over 40 years, they are still a headline band and can still fill arenas. Not too shabby for some poor kids from Sheffield. After they became Superstars, they returned to their home town and put on a free concert as a way to thank everyone who believed in them. Joe Elliot - Lead Vocalist can still hit the high notes, Phil Collen - Lead Guitarist still has serious licks at his fingertips, Rick Allen - Drummer plays better with 1 arm and 2 legs than many younger with all 4 limbs, Rick Savage - Bass, and Vivian Campbell - Rhythm Guitar has not lost his touch. Much respect for bands that have stayed together.
