Hey someone probably mentioned this but a few fun facts about the musical instruments. First each main character has their own instrument. Odysseus has the guitar but it’s fun to see if you can pick up on the rest. If there is a human character with a background vocals it means other characters (such as the crew) are echoing his words. Gods however can create a background chorus even when they are alone. Although the animatics aren’t technically canon, Jorge does go into detail in his own videos about the vision and background choices. Because of that they are probably pretty close and can be taken as canon or canon adjacent.

Some other facts: Odysseus is voiced by Jorge! (Or jay) he not only wrote the musical but voices the main character. He’s very talented! There is a “danger is coming” motif. It plays whenever there is danger. Make sure to listen to it as it plays fairly often The clock sound you hear in the beginning represents Athena! It shows that she is watching. I hope this helps!

Fun fact: This relates to the background vocals. If the human characters are singing, and if background vocals are there, there HAVE to be other humans in the scene to do them. But when it comes to the gods when they sing, they can just summon their own background vocals since, you know, they’re gods.

I love seeing musical people, like singers or vocal coaches and the like, react to Epic! There's probably not a single thing Jorge put into his music that was just "Eh, that sounds cool." Everything has a reason for being there. There are a lot of motifs that repeat throughout the songs that allude to different characters or scenarios. One important example of this is that almost every character has an instrument assigned to them! Odysseus, for instance, is the guitar! I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of the musical. Jorge is an absolute musical genius.

LETSGOOO! I love how Mortius started. Casper's journey and now he started yours. This musical is written by a GENIUS, which also is the voice of Odysseus if you didn't know already! Couple of things worth listening out for in the future: 1) every character has their own "theme instrument" for example, Oddy has the guitar for him. Give a listen and see what each characters instrument is and if you can find the difference between god and man ;D 2) the ensemble voices for songs are, mostly, diegetic with the exceptions being gods because... Well gods can do whatever they want! 3) youre gonna love this :D

Yeay! The Winion council grows!!! (Info: the Winions is what the fans call themselfves) I've been seeing Mortius' reactions from day 1 and saw how he dragged Casper into this, so seeing them put someone else trough this cicle😂 I'll give you escential info if you may alow me to info dump: •Epic The Musical is an adaptation of a famous 'epic' poem made by *Homer,* called The Odyseey (It's not 100% acurate tho) in which our MC, after 10 years of fighthing on the troyan war, tries to go back to home to reunite with his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus, figthing against any foes that he and his men travel to the sea •Jorge likes to assing an instrument to each important character. For our MC is an Acoustic/Electric guitar (depending on the situation) And like that, many other characters have specific instruments and/or melodies •'Jay' devides each act in 'sagas'. To this day, we have 5 sagas, with 20 songs among all of them. Since this is still a work in process, we have anoter 4 sagas (and 20 songs) until this is finally completed Anyways- I hope you enjoy this journey Casper dragged you into and that you stay till the end!💙

Some knowledge about the facts about the Greek mythology stuff: This masterpiece is based on the Odyssey by Homer and tells the story of the King of Ithica on his long lasting journey back home after the trojan war from Homer's Iliad. The main character is Odysseus (sung by Jorge who also lends his voice to the winions and the cyclops Polyphemus later in the story). Penelope and Telemachus are his wife and son. Polites is his best friend. Eurylochus is also a close friend and his second in comment. Appearing gods through the first Saga are Zeus and Athena. You can easily make some research for the cast on the Epic the musical fandom page without getting any spoilers for you can avoid them quite good.

Just so you know for musical analysis this world follows musical rules. All of the characters are represented by instruments. So keep an eye out for when musical instruments are introduced. And the human characters are only capable of having background vocals when other people are in the scene, while gods can have background vocals regardless of whether they are alone or not. And the gods are represented by more techno, synth music while the humans are more orchestral

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but any backing vocals in the musical are from actual characters singing them unless there's a god present. Gods are essentially able to conjure their own backing vocals. It can help you to keep track of if there are background characters in a scene or not.

Little late to your band wagon but: *One of us!* Info/fun facts: Zeus's signature animal is an Eagle... because of course it is. Odysseus is actually Big Z's Great-Great Grandson (Hermes's is Great Grandpa on one of his sides... I always forget which one). More well known: Poseidon's animal is a horse, this is (as the Troy movie pointed out) the reason Ody came up with the Trojan Horse idea as no one would be dumb enough to destroy a God's offering and it makes for a great... 'center piece' to a victory celebration. While late I'll likely add more info in other videos so as to not accidentally spoil anything (mostly only important for what's coming after Circe and the like since I see it is the most recent react). Figure spreading the love will help with the algorithm.

Actually at around 10:59 you mention the Ha Ha that is actually a motif that jorge put in called the danger is nearby motif keep an ear out of it and you will hear it through out the musical there are also a few other motifs but you specifically mentioned that one

I'm sure someones already mentioned it, but every major character has a dedicated instrument to them! The humans(minus Odysseus at times with his electric guitar), have traditional instruments, while the gods all have more electronic ones! I could be wrong in my remembering, but I believe Odysseus' is guitar, but it switches to electric guitar when hes being ruthless/intense/etc! Also, something else I'm sure someones mentioned that theres a hardset rule for the backing vocals. If its a human led song then the backing vocals are always other characters around them. If its a god, then the backing vocals are just a show of their power and doesnt have to have anyone around to be singing with them
