Cindy Birdsong made her own decision. She went creeping around The Supremes dressing room and so the girls told her to come on in. Diana sat her down and did her makeup. - couple yrs later group issues arose and Berry wanted a replacement for Flo, so Diana suggested Cindy and who would turn that offer down? Lol. Tough business; Cindy made her choice. It made Labelle stronger anyway… because vocally Cindy was not really adding much to their sound anyway. (labelle) And she wasn’t on par with Florence vocally either… but she was an ok replacement and got the job done.

Patties story always switches up lol. I think it’s because she’s the one that had some problems along the way. It was all in her head. Diana on the other hand never had any issues or anything against her. Cindy Birdsong seemed like a good replacement for Florence Ballard and so Diana suggested it to Berry Gordy. “Hey, remember that girl from the bluebells that came to our dressing room and I did her makeup?” Lol yea it went like that.

I remember the same as well and the issue had something to do with the way Diana would copy their fashions and go on before them on the circuit to make it look as if Patti copied their styles and another interview back in the day Patti mentioned Diana treated another singer wrong when she got down and out.
