This video is great! I have never used Cricut vinyl products (I have a Silhouette Cameo 4) because I generally use Siser or Thermoflex. I am intrigued/obsessed by the mini heat press usage on the mug + baking technique! I have had reservations on making a mug because I am a practical mom who needs the dishwasher and I would hate the peel or fade factor to occur In your experience, is there a Siser equivalent to Cricut Everyday Iron On vinyl? Is it truly the Siser Easyweed HTV? I would worry about the baking in the oven technique with Siser Easyweed HTV, but may be willing to try since I have an abundance of that brand vinyl in my stock pile. I would appreciate your thoughts and/or experiences on that!

I used this for foil HTV back in 2019 and my wine glass has gone through the dishwasher over 100 times. vinyl is still intact.

Glad to hear that! People can have the water temperature set real high and and drying temperature can also vary. Hand washing will extend the life of the glass.

Used Mod Podge to seal Cricut Permanent vinyl on Cricut brand mugs after watching several videos. It soon turned yellow and began to peel. I pulled everything off and switched to infusible ink with silicone wrap in oven which I like much better. Those who received the vinyl decal mugs swear they're holding up fine. I do microwave my 'cool' coffee sometimes for like 7-10 seconds. That may have been the reason the Mod Podge yellowed. Just know I would not use it again.

I do not recommend using Mod Podge over vinyl. People wanted a tutorial on it but I think the permanent vinyl holds up great all by itself.

Tiny lettering is complicated. If Washington at more pressure does dot work you could go in and change it to two passes. Always do a test cut first to save vinyl.

Which technique do you recommend takes the least time, but the effect is good and the inscription is not affected by normal dishwasher operation.

Overall, for permanent vinyl, the Oracal 651 and HTVRONT were the best all-around. They cut and weeded well, and were easily applied to the mug. All of the mugs held up well in the wash test. The Everyday Iron-On is a more challenging technique but the results, especially with the added bake time, produced a solid result. While all the mugs held up in the top rack of the dishwasher, hand washing is recommended for the longest lasting result. Do not microwave mugs with vinyl designs. Tips on how to remove transfer tape easily

Here are some tips! 1. Burnish Thoroughly: Before removing the transfer tape, make sure you have burnished the vinyl onto the surface well. Use a scraper to press down firmly on the vinyl, ensuring it adheres properly to the surface. 2. Angle Removal: Slowly peel the transfer tape back at a sharp angle (close to 180 degrees). This helps to keep the vinyl in place while the tape is being removed. 3. Use Parchment Paper: If you’re having trouble with positioning, use parchment paper to help align your design. This method allows you to reposition the vinyl easily before committing to the final placement. 4. Make Transfer Tape Less Sticky: If the transfer tape is too sticky, you can make it less sticky by pressing it onto a soft surface like a paper towel, your shirt, or pant leg. This will pick up some lint and reduce the stickiness, making it easier to remove. 5. Reverse Weeding: For intricate designs, try reverse weeding. Apply the transfer tape to the vinyl first, then weed out the excess vinyl. This method helps the small parts of the design stay in place. 6. Clean Surface: Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the vinyl. Use a lint roller or rubbing alcohol on a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or debris. 7. Layering Techniques: When working with layered designs, use different types of transfer tape as needed. For example, use strong grip transfer tape for shimmer vinyl and standard grip for regular vinyl. 8. Patience: Take your time and go slowly. Rushing can cause the vinyl to lift with the transfer tape. By following these tips, you should find it easier to remove transfer tape without disturbing your vinyl design. Happy crafting!
