I do mostly wash and gos and I’ve recently learned that the steam from the shower is my friend! It is the best curl revitalizer. I don’t try to band or pineapple my hair anymore. I just sleep on a satin pillow case at night, take a steamy morning shower and fluff. Great video!

I legit always side eyed the pineapple on 4C hair. Thank you for proving out my skepticism
@angelaidk74674 жыл бұрын
I think the pineapple is for longer hair that has more weight...wen u take it out of the pineapple it will fall back down a little...then if u spritz it with water and shake ur head it will bounce right into place.....TWA if it dries in a position...it ain't leaving it
@positivevybes2474 жыл бұрын
Her hair is pretty long.. Like medium length... But it shrinks so much... So I think that's why it's not 4c friendly... Because 4c hair shrinks up so bad.... However long the hair is

You can get it to come back down but in my experience I looe definition. I have shoulder length hair but my shrinkage is so rude.

Hydration is key. I surprisingly learned that from Solange, LOL! She mentioned in an interview about refreshing her curls in the shower with the steam and a bit of water but not saturation. Your hair looked good. I can't believe it made it 8 days!

@@JennJackson i dont have 4c so my hair will droop if I wet or steam it. But thats bcus my hair has changed. Im 4a and some 3c mostly in front. And 4b in crown. I also have multi porosity too. But when my hair was thick like yours and I was just learning lawd it was stiff and the water thing did work. Medication and surgery has thinned my hsir out and changed my curl pattern a lot. Im using products with more protein in them to thivken her back up. If I wasnt graying I would go back to henna but I hate the process of getting it black and that orange red is not the move for this chocolate gyal.

I definitely think the mini pineapples are my favorite ways! The thing that I do is wrap the band down the section more. Plus do more sections like 4 or 5. Then while taking them out, I make sure I have oil on my hands so that fluffing is easier. Because you do the shower thing, I’d actually leave the banded pineapples in, and allow the steam to stretch and revive it. Idk chile I’m a twist out kind of guy anyway lol

Jenn, your wash and go was beautiful. I have 4A/3C hair and pineapple is a no-no for me whenever I do wash and gos, which is rarely nowadays. I just put on a bonnet and fluff my hair and it resumes its shape. I can't use steam or water because my hair will become frizzy and dry. That is why i don't refresh between wash days. I also only use a curling cream, no gel. My wash and gos usually last 2 weeks. Like you, I don't have much tangling on wash day. Maybe you could try a curling cream wash and go.

I also am not afraid to take my blow dryer to my hair in the am to fluff the roots. If I am gonna do it for more than a minute or 2, I will spray some heat protectant First. Great video Jenn!!

@Jenn Jackson Update: I didn't do a pineapple ( I slept in a bonnet only) and this morning I spritzed with water glycerin aloe vera juice mix and put on a plastic cap for 10 minutes ,lifted with fingers at root and boom my hair was back. I don't know about 8 days. I just did a WNG for the first time in a long time and I doubt I can get 8 days. 2 to 3 max but I am going to try this time without pineappling and just waking up curls with steam and little water.

Jenn, next time take a shower and allow the steam to give your hair moisture and shape it in the shower. Although I'm not 4c, I put my hair in 3 ponytails at night... one in front and two on the side. I take the bands off and take my shower. Once I'm done taking a shower, I shake my hair . The steam from the shower loosens my hair and I'm able to shape it when I get out the shower (I'm 4a/4b btw). Just a thought...

Yup I love reviving my hair daily using the steam from my hot shower. Right before I jump in the shower, I usually spray my hair with Oyin Handmade's Juices & Berries herbal hair spray which has humectants that draw the moisture from the steam into my hair. But if I spray too much I can lose some definition from my twist out since it can take in a lot of moisture. When I try my wash n go I will try wetting my hands like you did to revive it.

That my question? Mine ALWAYS has so many knots😬 how can I prevent my hair from knotting
@Ash_Queen162 жыл бұрын
@@jackiepope609 I heard that you have to moisturize your hair. Single strand knots are caused by dryness. If you’re still experiencing that, it could be that you’re not sleeping with a satin bonnet. If that’s not helping, perhaps a protein treatment (such as rice water, for me at least). Hope it helps
