CoverGirl Clean Fresh Brow. You reviewed this and didn't like it because it didn't set down as fast as your favorite brow gel - a Too Faced product, I think. However, the TF product has alcohol, and the CoverGirl one doesn't. The CG products works fine for me, and the price was right! Just under $10, I think.

Elf Soft Glam foundation rocks! My new summer faves: #1 Maybelline Firework mascara- this is a holy grail for me. Checks all the boxes and then some! Peripera Ink Velvet lip tint in Cocoa Nude #29. I have 3 of these and they give the perfect muted soft matte that lasts and lasts. Cocoa nude is the perfect brown for cool skinned fair complexions. Peripera Lip liners- soft, CREAMY and long lasting. I have the color Milky Brown. Just Fabulous!!! Nyx Line Loud lip liner in the color Global Citizen- THE PERFECT cool toned taupey brown lip pencil. I reach for this 1st all the time. Incredible shade and long lasting. Elf Luminous Putty blushes- the shade Maui is perfection. Mario liquid bronzer in Fair, Kosas concealer and Loreal Lumi Le Liquid blush- use on top of Mario liquid bronzer for the perfect summer complexion! Wet N Wild Rose Comfort Lippie- Love all the shade. These lippies MELT on your pout. Love pinks? Then try the shade "Biscotti Mommy." Kiko Milano lipstick and probably more but I've talked too much! You're the first creator I've seen talk about it... And I have been saving and strategically buying/accumulating my Ulta points all year in hopes of getting the I Need a Nude palette. (And I still don't have enough points! Ha!) But now you're telling me I can get the Alter Ego dupe for a third of the price?!?! That’s an extremely expensive cost for synthetic brushes imo and financial class so I’m very excited about this dupe for 1/5 the price. Even with BK’s sales I just can’t justify spending that much on brushes. I’m thrilled for those blessed enough to be able to afford them though. I’m very excited for learning of alter ego this morning. 🥳🙏

I think the Alter Ego palette arrangement looks a lot more pleasing than the ND one. And thanks for the review on the matte lipstick. I, too, usually dislike matte lipstick because, well, I'm 55. The only one that has looked good on me is the Milani ones. That being said, off the Essence website I go. Hope you had an amazing summer with your family.

I ordered this Alter Ego palette before Noon Central Time (they had it available a little early)...I've never splurged on a ND Palette for myself (bought the I Need A Nude Palette for my daughter last Christmas).....mainly because I'm 60 and I rarely wear shimmers. I've been happy with all the Alter Ego Palettes I've bought in the past and for about $20 bucks, worth it!!!! I bought 4 palettes, total was $87----FOUR PALETTES FOR JUST OVER WHAT ONE ND PALETTE IS!!!! My favorite most recent Target purchases have been the Maybelline Lifter LIner (so creamy), the Revolution Skin Silk Foundation and the Revolution Icon Eyeshadow Palette--The Eternal Icon Green!!! 60, Balanced. Hi Jen I’m extremely cool toned and I love purple or lilac tones in blushes or lip products. Even the counter assistants on makeup counters are amazed by how everything pulls orange on me. As a tip to other people this happens to (apart from buying purple or lilac 😂) is to find a true purple lipstick and blush to use as a mixer- this allows me to use products I already have that aren’t quite the right shade. I have a bright purple lipstick and a blush - the lipstick is from an Italian brand available here in the UK, but there are many brands that make them. I have the made by Mitchell blursh in dairy queen for mixing with liquid and the fenty cream blush in drama class to mix with cream blush. Yes the two blushes are slightly higher in price but they really allow me to use so many other products I already own that they’re worth the money for me. There may well be other brands that make the really true purple needed, but these are the ones that work for me. I mix them on my hand and apply. Best wishes x

My favorite drugstore products are a toss up between the Maybelline vinyl ink and the Revlon satin ink lipstick. 1. They don't feather, which has always been a big problem for me with lipstick 2. They don't dry my lips 3. They can be removed and reapplied after a meal - I've never had ANY long wear lip look good after eating. Just swipe a lip balm on and it'll break up the lipstick to wipe off. 4. I don't have to worry about lipstick smears on my face or teeth .

I have to be honest, i struggle with the copying of someone else's creative vision and hard work. Theyre just copy cats. No imagination of their own and riding on the backs of the forerunners who put in all the work. I understand that its more affordable for those of us who cant afford the pricey makeup. I'm one of you! I just struggle with the morals of it. My daughter bought me the sekura palette for christmas as she couldn't afford the retro glam palette. It was so sweet of her! She kbew how much i loved that color story. But sadly, the pigment barely lasted out the door on my eyes even with a good primer. I did end up buying the retro glam and it lasted all day till i take it off end of day. So there def is a quality difference. Those are some of my thoughts. 😊 I love good drugstore products too! I love the Milani mascara, but it's been my experience that it begins to thicken quickly. It's awesome the first two weeks but once the thickening begins it definitely affects the outcome. One way that I manage it is to stick the tube of mascara in warm water for a few minutes to loosen it up and that helps bring it back for a few more good applications.

What an awesome video Jen! I was on the Alter Ego website today as soon as the palette launched and I picked up the brush set as well. Just over $40 for both with discount code and free shipping ~~~ I am thrilled with that and I can’t wait to get it!!! Speaking of high-end being no better than drugstore~~~ I bought a very popular high-end blush and bronzer not too long ago and when I got them home and tried them they were fine but in my opinion they were no better than some of the drugstore bronzers and blushes that I have. Alter Ego palettes are so-so for me. I use my Tartlette In Bloom, Mercier powder shadows and I have an Em Cosmetics palette. That’s all I need.

Hi, Jen! I am a very fair skinned, cool-toned gal who wears exclusively cool toned makeup, because anything warm makes me look sick, lol! Your comment about pink blush looking peach on you made me wonder if you actually have a light olive undertone? The green would cancel out the pink/red color and make it look more peach/orange. Just curious...maybe that is why the purple (blue based pink) shows up on you as pink? That may help when trying to match undertones. Anyhoo, thank you so much for all this goodness!! ❤

Great lead in the Essense Slim Lipstick. The colors are flattering and nicely saturated. Ultra ran a buy 2 and get one free. So glad I picked them up. You are doing a great job telling us the key points on products.

I don’t think it looks better. Natasha has a better formula and the shades are not the exact same. I mean, the Alter awgo palette is good but I don’t think it’s better at all.

Hi Jen, wow that Alter Ego - daylight palette really gave Natasha Denona’s I need a nude palette a run for it’s money, so similar & ND is my favourite brand, I love the look of the Essence blushes (powder/ liquid) also their highlighters looks great, the Morphe blush looks amazing, all other products also have my curiosity peaked, I enjoyed watching this video. Hi Jen 😊 I really like the new Elf foundation too. It’s the first I’ve ever tried from them. It wears nicely on me & isn’t cakey. It’s a great everyday foundation. BTW: Speaking of cakey…I picked up the Tir Tir (red) and it’s not good on my 55 year old dry face. Nope…too much work/skin prep to make it look only halfway decent. It made me look like a shriveled prune even with very moisturized skin. 😂 I’ll stick with my L’Oréal True Match & Elf. ✨

Try 20 light cool for the elf satin foundation if you have not already! We are both around the same skin tone and undertones and it works good for me!!

@Jen just wanted to let you know i ordered the Hollister hoodie the day I watched your video and it just arrived today! I LOVE IT! it was on sale for $25 and I got the Heather brown. I don’t wear hoodies much but I (sadly) live in the south Bay Area where it’s not like SF, but it’s sunny and cool so this is going to come in so handy! My local stores are starting to bring in fall and pumpkin flavored foods now and I’m LIVING FOR IT!
