2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button is going to be racing at the 24 hours of Le Mans, in a Nascar. Yes, you heard that right. The stock car will be tackling the world's greatest endurance race this weekend and has been much faster than predicted, meaning it will now run behind the LMP2 class and ahead of the LMGTE class. Could've been Rocken ,Jimmy , Button or Jimmy ,Jensen ,Rocken- fellows as well , theres also the triple champion's team. All are great drivers, my only worry is Jimmy JohnSpin will show up rather then Jimmy Johnson ! Cause when J.J. is driving like he can, he's awesome !! But oddly in his later years in Nascar, and then really bad in Indy he couldn't keep the car pointed in the right direction, or put it into the competition's car. Shame really, cause the man is a legend and can drive the doors off just about anything !! I'm really hoping they do well and win their class at the Lemans race. @@Viper_2-1 the commentators for le mans were talking about the garage 56 car and what they had to do for it to race at that track they couldnt use anything that was standard for nascar it wasnt even close to what they use on the speedways that why they used the zl1 engine. the EFI v8's would destroy themselves on the le mans track with how low of rpms they use on a consistent rate on the le mans track the efi v8 was not meant for a track like le mans. and thats not the only thing they had to do to qualify aaswell the entire car got reworked and touched up for that race and they still had issues but either way it was a modded ZL1 engine.

The No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 finished the endurance race in the 39th position out of 62 cars entered in the event. The team's goal was to be finish the race and they were able to do just that. In the process, the team fixed a drive line issue that cost the squad about an hour of track time.

I think it will do quite well, a reliable v8, experienced drivers, good pace. I dont think it would be as fast at other wec circuits since it probably loses a lot of time in the corners

It's actually really good in the corners. According to Jenson button it's great off the corner because of torque, but at the end of the straights it actually loses time

GTE are race cars that started as a GTE where they took a car from a completely different form of racing and qualified better than anyone though possible. And managed after to finish the race. They will look hard at what failed in the gearbox and will show up with a car that won't fail in the same way but i would say get ready for more NASCAR teams to try.

Well to be fair the original nascar invite from the 70s didnt well at all, even the one that got proper fuel........ But this car will do well. From what i remember this doesn't really resemble any 2023 nascar. Its a Prototype test bed for a possible chassis in future nascar generation.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that NASCAR would be in lemans. It's already an endurance race to turn left for hours at a time (excluding the lesser know road courses). This was basically an inevitability.

Fun fact: There was going to be a 24-hour Le Mans race in the Cars 2 movie, Each car uses different types of fuel not just allinol. Mater eventually disrupts the race as he is mistaken as a spy. Unfortunately, this was scrapped immediately.
