(My 2 cents personal review) You remember that favorite glove you had? --STEPS TO THE PROCESS-- 1. Reach out to confirm sizing 2. Purchase boot 3. Wear boot for 4 days (at least 24 total hours in the boot and walking to work approx 2.6 miles) 4. Write the review Now here is step 4: As the title says, "You remember that favorite glove you had?" You know, when you bought it, how it felt, where you had to wear it when it counted, and who complimented you on the appearance. Easily stated it was "fantastic" across the board. I ordered true to size, they fit snug and I considered going up a size for a moment (I wear 12.5 EE in Tecovas), but a part of me said trust Will who personally told you that the 12.5 should be good because Chisos run a little wider. True as a straight edge two days into the experience the boot molded to the shape of my foot. I conditioned the outside and inside of the boot twice in that time and now I don't have a better fitting boot. I don't know what they did to this leather to make it the perfect balance between soft and sturdy but they hit it. They're worth much more than you pay and I'm truly blessed to have them made with the right purpose. Great product, great service and a fantastic experience for the foreseeable future! I'll be looking for your red stripe. God Bless

Howdy, William! We absolutely have a leather insole. Go over to my page and watch the video of me cutting them in half. Hopefully they will be in stock soon. They do have a system we're you leave them your email address and they said they will contact me when available again. I like the idea that they are made with thicker leather were it counts and the fact they use retired dairy cows is even better! I'm not totally sold on the shock obsorbing insoles but after giving it some thought I'm going to go ahead and give it a try. I'm really afraid the insoles will make my feet hot but we will see. I might also note if you want to remove the insoles the gentleman I spoke to today advises ordering one size smaller than your size to make up for the extra space when removed. I'll let everyone know if the insoles make your feet sweat or if they make it wobbly when walking. But considering the owner is a fellow Texan and these boots are made the old fashioned way and they are reasonably priced is a win win for me!! Like I said I can't wait!!

I wonder if shoving a boot tree into a Chisos boot will damage the insert?
@Chisos4 жыл бұрын
Howdy, Bob! I use shoe trees in my cowboy boots as well, so I don't think you're crazy! The insoles are removable, so I take mine out when I put the shoe trees in. This lets everything air out really well. However I don't anticipate that the shoe trees would damage the insole-it's leather topped and tough enough to take you stomping around in it all day. -Will

Awesome detailed review JC!😀👍 I have a boot noobie question about the welt; So is a channeled welt a variation of a good year welt or is it something separate? If it is an other type of welt can it be resoled?
@Chisos4 жыл бұрын
Not a newbie question at all! The traditional channel welt (leather-to-leather, no canvas ribbing) is the original version of the Goodyear Welt. And, YES, it can be resoled. This method is the highest quality and most traditional version of cowboy boot construction, requiring a level of skill that is increasingly uncommon. 95% of boots made today use a canvas material that is glued to the insole and therefore increases the chances of the welt failing. In the channeled method, the welt is stitched directly to a lip carved from the insole, creating a much stronger bond between the components.

I'm always careful to do that and often times I cut it from the actual video because I'm a 12B and very few companies make that size. It's tough for me to make recommendations for that reason. I will say that for me they feel a bit smaller of an 11D. Similar to the Tecovas round toe 11D except these are wayyyy more comfortable. The square toe is a better fit than the Tecovas too. Where Tecovas feels like their square toe is a bit bigger. These translate very well so you probably won't need to size down from your usual on the square toe.

@@Loveall247 I like them so they've earned the hype. So I've order the pair through Klarna which helps you finance your purchase (I did mine for 4 partial payments every two weeks). My order was lost for a couple of days thanks to UPS and during that wait time customer service touched base with me and were about to send me another pair but was able to get the original pair. Once I got my package and open up the box I was overwhelmed with the most satisfying leather smell ever. Just thinking about it makes me smile lol. I've ordered the #2 and I have to say the design is traditional but still modern. They based the stitching on the petroglyphs of big bend national park which is cool. The boot shaft is not wide but leans more towards the narrow side which surprised me in a positive way. The size fit me perfectly on the first try, I ordered an 8.5 and the fit was exact. With other brands I have to order a 9 or an 8 and they rarely get it right but Chisos got the sizing correct. The only thing that made it uncomfortable was that the heel and insoles were a bit too high for what I'm used to... However, at that point I was still breaking in the boots. Im sure that with time the insoles will accommodate to my feet. Other than that it is a beautiful pair of boots and it is worth the money. I would consider buying again from Chisos, I recommend their boots.

Can you try and find exotic leathers for under 150$?
@JeremiahCraig3 жыл бұрын
I have! You have to buy them used. I would NOT recommend buying exotics for that cheap new. They would most likely be a scam

Trying to find justification to spend double the price over a comparable Tecova boot.....I'm not sure the synthetic insole has me sold on assuring better long term comfort.....using leather from retired dairy cows may make me feel good for a bit and the creative stitching reflecting the indigenous mountains of Texas is cool but I'm really struggling w the price point.

Healthy skepticism, I support it. Just about everything is different between the two production processes; channel welt vs gemming, leather thickness and durability, heel counter construction. I go into some of the details here if you're interested: chisos.com/blogs/cowboy-boot-blog/thou-shalt-not-cut-corners

Dude....Chisos is my saddest pair of boots. I own 16 pair of boots. The only one that I can't wear with comfortably is my Chisos number 5.

I don’t understand if this comment is good or bad? Are chisos better than your 16 other pairs?

Does any body know roughly the weight of these boots?? Particularly the NO.1

I'm thinking chisos roper or rujos roper for casual wear.i have worked b on concrete for over 30 years, so indeed a boot with good arch support and good cushion.which one would you recommend?
@Chisos2 жыл бұрын
I'd say Chisos... but I might be biased

Incredible price that aligns with Frye's Duke roper price. No thanks! Wolverine BLVD pull on is in my budget.

Are these better than Tecovas’ boots?
@Kazlide3 жыл бұрын
Super yes, Tecovas boots will not last as long as Chisos because of its construction.
