People hated the Evo 10 because it doesn't have what makes Evo an Evo, the engine. Evo 1-9 had a pretty much the same engine. Well, an evolution (get it?) on the same platform, but the X had a completely different engine.

​​@@dustojnikhummeri always thought the original reason for the evo models was so that mitsubishi could make changes to the production lancer models and homologate those changes for their group a wrc cars. for me, the evo 7 was the last 'true' evo, since that was the last evo that provided the basis for mitsubishi's wrc entry. after that, they used the base model lancer as the foundation for their 2004 entry, and a few years later they were out of the sport. so imo, the 'evo' name has nothing to do with the engine, it started out as a homologation thing, but it turned into purely a marketing label from the evo 8 onwards.

My 2011 Evo 10 was an incredible machine. Mhi-18k turbo,e85, made 450 whp reliability and is still on the road with the new owner to this day.

I love my evo x. It might be old but it’s not obsolete. I track mine every now and then. The active torque vectoring rear differential (mitsubishi calls it active yaw control) is what really helps it go around a corner so well.

Either it means that stiffness and focus doesn't necessarily translate into being faster than, I guess, being balanced? I love the Evo. The 1-3 are my dream cars and I have a Black 1 GSR, I never understood the hate on the Evo 10, those people are on something. The style is amazing, the 4B11T is the modern 4G63T, and the technology was brilliant! Before people say the 8-10 aren’t “rally cars,” they’re wrong, they used the 8 in WRC along with the 7, and the 9 and the 10 were used in rallying, just not by the works team (Privateers) as Mitsu pulled the plug on WRC during 2005. They are still rally cars

I've always enjoyed my Subarus, owned 3 from new now (never an sti), but I would have taken this over the STI hands down if it was the car I was in the market for (or could afford) at the time. At the time it was the WRX, and the Mitsu rallisport wasn't comparible.

im fan of Evo X not evo Xi... here why 1: Evo X have more features tech that we can easily drive the car... whenever you drive on Rain & put on Snow mode, it can handle the stability while Speed 160kmh like Nothing even the Evo9 cannot do that 2: im not prefer evo x with manual transmission cuz SST 6 speed More Wayyy Betterrr, looking for MANUAL pls choose Evo 9 below but NO to evo 10 3: looking at this car soo great... exterior, interior very good & quite Futuristic, if evo 9, you only get Exterior good looking but interior soo Outdated, focus on track yes Evo 9 good for you but evo 10 good for daily use 4: not 4g63t but this engine 4b11t was not bad, it also can handle fully built into 700hp similar like 4g63t... what 4b have that 4g didn't have is 4b have function that didn't give Turbo lag & make more response while we need the power

Some personal opinions of mine: 1) EVO X GSR is the superior car, yes the 6th gear is tall but way better reliability trans than Dual Clutch (SST) that is expensive to repair and maintain. We are talking 6k-8k for rebuilding it alone and not including reteaching the SST. 2) EVO X computer is superior to XI, however XI is more analog. Yes EVO X is the prefect all round daily. Timeless design of the 2008-2017 Lancer GS platform makes EVO X still look classy. 3)700HP 4B11T aren't common, however 400HP can be attained with just a mods that don't deplete your wallet. 4B11T is a great engine and it's non turbocharged siblings 4B10, 11 & 12 are still alive and proven to have bulletproof reliability. 4) AYC Pump failure is common on EVO X and people don't fix it since it's gonna break again anyways.

This segment has brought up a Great point of the change in the car world. "Don't think this car has been marketed to people who aren't old enough to drive yet." Why not? This is easily a direct reason why cars are boring as shit today. Insurance prices directly supporting pricing out teenagers from the safety of todays vehicles so that they can only afford cheap bangers they want you to crash and die in. The teenager probably yet knows anything about cars because home mechanics is a long dead tradition in America. (Of course it still happens chill your trigger fingers.) So I guess in summary it actually just boils down to fck insurance company's and fck the nimbys.
