It is disturbing, sad and heartbreaking to watch. I can’t imagine anyone else ever being able to play this role. Now I see the mental health side of it jesus... He had a mental illness and tried to get Annabelle back through Delores but his soul dies at the end because him holding on and not letting go killed Anabelle within delores and that just heart broke him, he had a conscious of what was wrong but he didn't mean to be this way and be evil and he's a fabrication/manifestation of his demons he carries from his childhood that drowns him in darkness and consumes him, this film has something in common with real Life and real shit and that's why the audience is disturbed and so divided, shit is dark and deep, needs to be more film reviews because it's really controversial but we need a psychological sense of a review This mental health and Annabelle and his demon's is what he meant by redemption that manifested into an obsession to recreate his past relationship repitition compulsion (death of Annabelle) towards dolores and at the end when he murdered claire quilty that is the evil version of humbert he kills because after he kills claire quilty the revolver turns into delores's shoe but what if claire quilty is humberts subconscious, that would explain the evil supernatural claire quilty scenes that mirrors humberts mental illness with the flickering lights and self playing piano The first scene of dolores is the same clothes as the first scene of Annabelle and claire quilty walks past the shed past humbert and Annabelle Humbert: "the child I loved died when we was the same age but I longed looked for Annabelle longer after I left my childhood" he uses Annabelle's lace for his dairy same way he keeps delores's hair clip as a parallel to Annabelle humbert dies after of the heartbreak/heart failure/coronary thrombosis because of annabelle dying for the second time within delores Annabelle = Favoured Grace Grace and gods light Delores = Pain and Sorrow The sensation of acute discomfort of physical or mentally emotional suffering or mental distress

Martin Hugh Henley I don't have much to say sir because you already explained it, is true that for close minded people the movie might have 'strong content' but let's say something is it bad for an older man to fall in love with a younger one? I don't think so. I do think that this movie is a miracle, it shows that love exists even if after Lolita doesn't want to go back with him (she is pregnant and that shows that she is trying to be loyal to her man,my opinion) but they way Humbert takes care of Dolores aka Lolita is amazing. Maybe I'm wrong but those are my thoughts.

This was a great, erotic, dark, yet very sad movie of a man with a broken heart who couldnt move on with his first heartbreak and carried his neurosis all his life, until he met lolita. All the wonder that trapped him for so many years seemed distant to him at one sight. But the tragedy of his imprisonment and continued fascination with lolita unchained his neurosis which ultimately finished him. His love for lolita wasnt love, it was unbridled insanity and he was a slave to it. As for lolita, shes the epitome of beauty, innocence, curiosity and pure feminine wiles. All these simple characteristics left her vulnerable in the hands of a man who was stunted since he was a boy. With no father to reign in her budding awareness she used what she knew from her new admirers reaction. Whether she understood or not what he wanted clearly shows in the film, a tug of war between innocence and desire. He, being a neurotic monster, while she was a budding damsel, was a forest fire in the making. It was a sad story of immense uncontrollable disaster; she was like fuel to his raging flame. In the end, he did the often thinkable/unthinkable with her. The movie characterized the same thoughts that occur throughout all history and always ended in tragedy. This kind of relationship (if it could be called that) never works out in the end. He was doomed p because of his obsession, while she was doomed in simple child birth. Theres a reason this taboo is never accepted in society. Its a curse on his part and for all men who seek that kind of "relationship" with a young girl. Men who pursue it IRL should be aware of the consequences. All men are damned by it. The world is sick, & this is one of the biggest problems in our society today. This story was tame compared with what evil men do to children all over the world. They who think this is a mere sexual "preference" do not understand how evil it truly is. Those who practice this affair dont see the judgement after they pass from this life. If youre watching this show as a person who struggles or practices its vile process then be forewarned, those who enter its gates do so by their own damnation and in doing so you know its evil and your damnation just. I side with the child, protect them at all costs.
@bryanm64 Жыл бұрын
I think that's a little too strong, as there were many man/girl couples throughout history. Even grandparents of people I know we're composed of men in their 20s and girls of 12 or 14. It is not always such a damnable pairing as you imagine, and even when it is, anyone who struggles with it should be regarded with compassion, and anyone who has been involved can repent and experience grace.

USA will never understand art. Dominique and Irons could have dated in Austria, Germany or Portugal if the film had been made there. If it is within the law, is not considered a pathology. 🎼I never thought hyenas essential, They're crude and unspeakably plain. But maybe they've a glimmer of potential, If allied to my vision and brain.🎶 🎼I know that your powers of retention, Are as wet as a warthog's backside. But thick as you are, pay attention! My words are a matter of pride.🎵 🎼It's clear from your vacant expressions, The lights are not all on upstairs. But we're talking kings and successions, Even YOU can't be caught unawares!🎶 🎼So prepare for a chance of a lifetime, Be prepared for SENSATIONAL news! A shining new era, Is tiptoeing nearer.🎵 And where do we feature? Just listen to teacher.🎶 I know it sounds sordid But you'll be rewarded. When at last I am given my dues.🎵 And injustice deliciously squared Be prepared!🎶 🎼It's great that we'll soon be connected, With a king who'll be all-time adored. Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected, To take certain duties on board.🎵 🎼The future is littered with prizes, And though I'm the main addressee. The point that I must emphasize is, You won't get a SNIFF without me!!🎶 So prepare for the coup of the century, Be prepared for the murkiest scam.🎵 Meticulous planning Tenacity spanning.🎶 Decades of denial Is simply why I'll, Be king undisputed Respected, saluted And seen for the wonder I am!🎵 Yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared, Be prepared!🎶 Yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared, Be prepared!🎵
