Call it crazy, but Nabokov's novel is one of the best in my opinion. :) While reading you can't help but feel sympathy for Humbert Humbert, and you understand why he loves Lolita - even though you know you should hate him for that. And there comes a point where Humbert knows he can't turn it back. It makes you feel uncomfortable, but that is what makes this tragic novel so great :) I can totally understand why people don't want to read the novel, or dislike the movie though. But it is one of my favourites!

You can disagree, but no one I know who makes Lolita vids thinks that child abuse is "cute". The *whole* idea behind them *IS* to make you feel disturbed. Nabakov's novel does what all great literature does. Faciltate discussion, or even argument.
