It was the last season at Chicago Stadium, and the Blackhawks trailed the Maple Leafs 2-0 in the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals, the first year of conference-based playoff seeding. The Hawks won the third game 5-4, but they needed to win Game 4 to ensure there would be at least one more game at the Stadium. Thanks to Joe Murphy, Tony Amonte and Jeremy Roenick, there would be a sixth game as the Hawks won 4-3 in overtime. However, because the Hawks were shut out in that game, Roenick's goal was the last Hawks goal at the Stadium. In fact, the Hawks were shut out in Game 5, as well, before bowing out to the Leafs. This is the original call but not the original video (it's a Blackhawks Classic).
