The man had the opportunity to kill and didn't what would you prosecute him for? The gun did jam but it was 40 years ago he clearly hasn't reoffended. If the man who put the whole scheme in motion did not go to jail and the target wasnt hurt lets not make a scapegoat out of the patsy.

Thorpe was told he was going to get a not guilty. Political pressure on the courts once again. Perverting the course of justice seems like it's ok if it's for one of their own?? The judge was totally over the top with his bias towards Thorpe.
