@jameso5162 Flyfishers have been fishing for Murray Cod for multiple decades. Should I suggest that you need to get out more? Very common activity in the south-eastern parts of the continent and even further north into the New England Ranges.

@@feelincrispy7053 Um, what? Not really. Closed season September to December. 50 - 70 slot limits on size, 2 fish per day in most places. Trout fishing rules are more controlled, lol.

Robbiefishing site catches them often and they hit lures aggressively, but sure not as dramatic as you make it out to be or dangerous either, didn't see rows of sharp teeth ready to tear you to shreds lol

If your chasing big murray cod, forget lures that imitate small baitfish, try lures that imitate very very large bait fish

Hardly even leagle size leagle size is 55cm-75cm, eildon has report of 1.3mtr cod. Should have used yabbies or cheese as bait for lures you want deep diving lures that float and rattle, Orgee lures are some of the more popular

Nah. A metrey in some waters might take 1000 casts. These days, with stocking, you can get multiple big cod in a day of fishing. A big mulloway is rarer now.

This episode was truly embarrassing for Jeremy. He thought the Murray Cod was extinct. Five minutes on KZbin would have taught him how wrong he was. The Murray Cod was almost hunted to extinction, but that is serveral decades ago. since then it has made a strong comeback.

Lol. I can catch cod in the middle of Canberra. A lady a couple of years ago pulled a 75 kilo (estimated weight) out of Lake Burley Griffin. There are huge fish right here in the centre of town. I have a 13 kilo from a local drain on my channel. Yes, a drain.

Probably because he thought it would make better tv for this episode in particular, also because the river was shallow and full of weeds and utilization of a flyrod he deemed would eaze the fishing. Perhaps he simply just wanted to aswell. If I were to guess, likely somewhat a combination of all three.

I‘ve watched many episodes of Briggsy, Pelagic Pursuit and Brooksy Fishing channels. There are two things they are always careful about when they are near water: sharks and crocs. I have no idea if they want to swim in even such a small pool. Crocs are invisible so many times even if they right in front of you. I would be scared

Not at all true. There are some very large cod. In the centre of Canberra, Lake Burley Griffin, a lady caught a fish estimated at about 78 kilo. There are plenty of huge cod around. Carp are their main food source now, so don't be blaming the carp.

Alot of us fish flies for natives. Silvers, goldens, cod, tandanus cats all take big flies like streamers, wooly buggers and things are great. Blackfish and Mack perch love smaller flies and are often taken as trout bycatch on certain creeks.
