I love how Jeremy Wade treats all religions and beliefs with equal respect. He proves that scientists aren't against religion and faith, or shouldn't be, especially if they also go fishing as recreation. After all, from my own experience, fishing relies a lot on luck. Just because a certain stretch of river, or lake bed, is teeming with fish one day, doesn't mean they'll be there the next. Water temperature and clarity, weather conditions, and concentration of food sources are just a few of the factors that affect the numbers of fish in one location, and these are just some of the factors we know about. There may be others we don't know of. Then there is the 'human' factor. We've all heard of the 'placebo effect', where, if a person believes a medicine they are given will cure them, they get better, even when the 'medicine' has no kind of active ingredient in it. Less well known is the 'nocebo effect', where, if a person believes that a medicine won't have any effect on them it doesn't, even if it has an active ingredient in it that should have worked. Sometimes doubt can be as powerful as belief is, and if a fisherman or angler is convinced they'll fail to catch anything, then there's a good chance they won't. They pick the wrong spot, or the wrong bait, use the wrong tackle... this is where faith, belief and 'superstition' come into play. Many might dismiss shamen and witch-doctors as 'mumbo jumbo', but, as Jeremy proves time and again, that, for whatever reason you might like to put forward, they do work...

Jeremy should start a new show where he tries to break records for different species of fish as far as size/weight. For example, 143 pounds is the heaviest catfish caught in North America (in 2011), so try to catch one that's even bigger. I feel like he could do it lol.

I wonder if it is the camera. When facing Jeremy the smoke is going up, when facing the doctor it gets pulled in seemingly to the one point.

@@Dirtbikekidlostinthewoods Possibly, but what struck me as strange is it only happens in that cave, with that holy man. I’ve never seen it in any other video. 👊🏼✌️😊 🤔

The fish farmers should use cast nets to catch the fish being farmed. And why not make a basket barrier to set the children in at the waters edge? And why not make protective surrounding baskets for the people who are in the water fishing or doing laundry??
