Probably an unpopular opinion, but Batman Begins is actually my personal favourite of all the three Nolan Batman films. I loved seeing Bruce Wayne become Batman and seeing all the gadgets, seeing his childhood and his trauma. It for me was the most interesting of the three films
@Olderaccount179 жыл бұрын
Luca Munro You're not alone, it's also my favorite by far. Also, the most realistic one and the one with the best aesthetic; Gotham felt like a regular city in the other two. Also, the Batman characterization is way better in Begins.
@Austral139 жыл бұрын
Luca Munro It's my favorite too. It pretty much restored my faith that there could be a good Batman movie again. Gotham felt gritty, seeing Bruce become Batman was a nice building block. And some of the shots of him overlooking Gotham or the fight scene down by the docks made me feel that they finally got Batman right. And I like how it was just a contained movie, that it wasn't hinting to a sequel.
@butcherjsy89 жыл бұрын

My favourite out of all the triology, just how deep they go even beyond the origin story of batman to a young desillusioned Bruce Wayne travelling the world seeking for truth and purpose in life after dealing with injustice and loss. Seriously your absolutely right! He not only revived the franchise but he revived me and my faith in Batman films. I will be the first to admit I was sitting in the theater to watch Constantine and the trailer came on for Batman Begins and I was like are you fucking serious!?!?! ANOTHER BATMAN MOVIE!??! How much do they have to rape an iconic legend!?!? And then I saw it opening night at midnight!!! And it brought back and filled my heart back and beyond to the point of loving Batman again just like I did when I was a kid and first saw Burton's version. But it did way more. It showed me how much meaning and power of a film could bestow on a person such as myself. Not only in movies but in a comic book character and yes Legend like Batman. I don't have the time to write everything this movie did for me and to all movies again but it breathed new life, meaning and purpose into a film franchise that I thought was no longer alive and long since dead. When it came on HBO I played the ever living shit out of it I think I watched it everyday for a year straight and never got sick of it cuz it gave me all the hope that other movies especially comic book movies had never done before. It also brought the whole sense of realism to a movie that I had never thought about up until that point with a comic book hero again. Batman Begins has to be my favorite comicbook movie for these reasons and more that I just can't even put into words. The whole trilogy is one of the greatest of all time and probably will be until the day I die. This movie not only started a new trend of Batman followers it also made people believe that maybe deep down somewhere they could be Batman too. And this is the very reason and prime example of what movies should do now of days. Batman begins title also makes sense because it wasn't only the start of this franchise it was also the beginning of what all movies should and could ever hope to live up to. Your the man Jeremy. " I never got the chance to thank you". "And you'll never have to."

I saw this film in 2005, when I was far too young to understand it, but scenes like the train crashing, the scarecrow's fear of the bat 'monster', to Batman being set on fire have always stuck in my mind. Now, when I watch it again, I can fully understand how incredible this film was. It's timeless.

When I think of a live action Alfred, Michael Caine's the first one who comes to mind. He once said "If you're watching me give a performance, and you turn to your companion and you say: Isn't that Michael Caine a wonderful actor? Then I've failed." When I watched the Nolan Trilogy, I saw Alfred first and Michael Caine second, so he nailed it in that role. I haven't watched many of his other movies and barely remember him in Inception or Interstellar, aside from his heartbreak about lying to Murph in the latter, but he was perfect as Alfred.

The only thing I wish they did was that in the Dark Knight & Dark Knight Rises films, they kept some of the stuff Batman could do in the Batman Begins film, namely, move very quickly and dispose of villains quickly via stealth, and those bats that he can summon, they could've reinforced the villains' fears of him if he used them more than once.
@paradoxacres106310 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I didn't like how different Batman seemed in the second and third Nolan films. Why couldn't they have kept the stealth-oriented Batman from the first?
@canaanclb10 жыл бұрын
he didn't really need to summon the bats in the dark knight, because in his first appearance, he had the situation under control without bats, and when joker had rachel by the throat, he couldn't summon them then because there were civillians in the building that would probably panic. he probably didn't think to use them when he battled joker at the end because things were happening so fast paced then that he probably didn't have time. he couldn't summon them while fighting bane because that would not scare bane. and he couldn't summon them while fighting bane the second time because that was the daytime, and bats are asleep then.

Batman Begins was a good movie. The story was fine. I wished they had used more time with Batman's origin story before he puts on the cape, and I agree with another reviewer here on youtube, Steve Shives, that the concept of the finale battle was a bit ridiculous. But it didn't bother me that much. The biggest plus in Batman Begins was the cast. The performances was great: Christian Bale was the perfect Batman, Gary Oldman was the perfect Jim Gordon and Michael Caine was the perfect Alfred. Liam Neeson was awesome as Bruce's mentor Ducard. Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy also did a pretty good job, and Katie Holmes was okay. The thing that annoyed me the most in Batman Begins was the poor filmed fight scenes. You couldn't see what was going on, and that was a huge minus for the movie. Nolan did not do a good job with that. However, when that is said, Batman Begins was fun and entertaining to watch. Great performances from the cast. 4/6

Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie will always remain my all time favorite superhero film. That being said... I think Batman Begins is the absolute best superhero film ever made.. it’s a close 2nd for me and if I hadn’t grown up loving Superman and Christopher Reeve so much then this film might take the #1 spot lol

Favorite superhero movie of all time? Um, I would say Guardians of The Galaxy but I don't think that really counts since its more Sci-Fi than Superhero, and I can't really say Batman Begins because its more of a man with gadgets stopping Liam Neeson (Which automatically makes it the best Batman movie for me) than Superhero so, I guess I'll go with Man of Steel, since, well, its Superman. Ya can't get more superhero than him.

Not to mention the BADASS SCORE. The music was so epic. Almost no movies give their characters as much depth as nolan did. It's a lost art. This movie is one of the best made. I even got my mom to love it.

Ra's al Ghul: Tomorrow the world will watch in horror as its greatest city destroys itself. The movement back to harmony will be unstoppable this time. Bruce Wayne: You attacked Gotham before? Ra's al Ghul: Of course. Over the ages, our weapons have grown more sophisticated. With Gotham, we tried a new one: Economics. But we underestimated certain of Gotham's citizens... such as your parents. Gunned down by one of the very people they were trying to help. Create enough hunger and everyone becomes a criminal. Their deaths galvanized the city into saving itself... and Gotham has limped on ever since. We are back to finish the job. And this time no misguided idealists will get in the way. Like your father, you lack the courage to do all that is necessary. If someone stands in the way of true justice... you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart ra's al ghul killed batman's parents
@DaisukesBorn10 жыл бұрын
Not really. He was talking about Bruce at that point. Also Thomas and Martha Wayne werekilled by the kind of person that Ras Al Ghul wants to get rid off.

I love how rather than just calling the movie "Batman," they chose a better title which really shows that the movie is about the origins of Batman. Hence, "Batman Begins."
@Evelina_4128 жыл бұрын
It's a brave move though. You have to be super confident in your material to do something like that. If the movie turned out bad and the studio refused to make movies it would just be pathetic. Like the ending of Green Lantern where they tease a sequel. It's like ,,Aww, they thought that this will be popular and make money.... Adorable''

Tough question indeed. I don't have an absolute favorite Superhero movie, so I'll just narrow it down to these few: The Spiderman Trilogy (yes, even 3) Batman (1989) Batman Mask of The Phantasm Superman X-Men First Class The Amazing Spiderman Captain America: The Winter Soldier The Dark Knight Trilogy Guardians of the Galaxy The Avengers

Emo Batman. That's what the Nolan version is. He's depressed, whiny before his parents even get killed. They get killed. He moves on a little. He gets depressed again. Moves out of Gotham. Comes back. He's over it. He gets depressed over a girl. He gets over it. Stuff with the Joker. Girl gets killed. Quits being Batman. It takes a new girl, Selina Kyle, to help him get over it...YAWN. lol
@samuraiwarrior8711 жыл бұрын
yeah i would like to see you get over the fact that your parents have been killed and the guy who did it gets away with it do to a corrupt government and his a kid he has a fear which is normal for a kid you were a whiny ass kid once and he does not get depressed over racheal until she died and its perfectly normal since he is questioning whether what he did to fight the criminals was ultimatly worth it since the joker was born from it and its not selina kyle helping him get over anything it was seeing bane let the criminal's run all over his city seeing the people scared and bascailly imprisioned what got him over it i am glad there is a mute button so i can mute other people then win all over them with my replies.

I can point out some flaws with this movie but it's just nitpicking: 1- the fight scenes where you don't understand who's kicking ass and what's really happening, I understand it's played to show the fear from the people fighting batman's point of view, but I would appreciate more information regarding the fight 2- in the end they repeat the same exposition about ras al ghoul's plan once with batman and twice with the old dude in the wayne tower, we don't really need the old dude in this movie, one exposition is enough, and i don't understand why is it that important to see the point of view of someone inside the tower 3- and also regarding that old dude, he yells twice to evacuate the building yet he stays with his assistant inside the tower until the last moment, wtf?! But still I love this movie, less than tdk and tdkr for sure

I loved all the movies in the trilogy. Not any one above another, because they all bring different things to the table. I just loved how Nolan dove into the psychological aspect of Batman, something that has never been done on the big screen. And that made for three badass movie with some amazingly portrayed characters.
@sebwilson821210 жыл бұрын
Really agreed with everything you said on this review, especially about the realism, the character depth, and bringing batman back from the dead. I did think that Ra's All Ghul was the main villain so if scarecrow had been used any more it may have detracted from Ra's. Love the trilogy, but can't decide whether the dark knight is my favourite or batman begins, but still love the dark knight rises. Thought this was an epic review for an epic film

I love Batman Begins. They finally nailed the origin story of Batman. They also got the character of Bruce Wayne right. I loved seeing Bruce training as a ninja. I also love Ra's al Ghul, because of Liam Neeson's portrayal. In fact, after seeing this movie several times, Ra's al Ghul is my favorite Batman villain, because he basically motivated Bruce to become Batman, by training him to overcome his fear of bats. I am so glad that Warner Brothers chose Christopher Nolan to reboot Batman. Batman Begins used to be my favorite Batman movie. But then my opinion changed; Batman Begins is now my second favorite Batman movie. The Dark Knight is my favorite Batman movie. My only complaint about this movie is that it barely mentioned Martha Wayne, Bruce's late mother. Every time they mentioned his parents, they only talked about Thomas Wayne, Bruce's late father. They should have mentioned both of his parents. But overall, I still love this movie. It's the perfect origin story of Batman, a great Batman movie, and one of the best movies of the year.
