Lot of academy award series aren't that great though. Have you seen the diversity requirements for those shows? You can only be nominated if you have 60% diversity. Nothing wrong. With that but bc of producers trying to get their shows to win an award they will change the original script to fit this requirement which makes the show feel artificial.

So happy Jeremy showed this series some love! I'm a huge fan of TM and this show was a breath of fresh air. It clearly does not take itself seriously and I think that's why the humor (for me) works. I also felt the car sequences were really well done and they actually used alot of on-scene practical effects for those scenes which is awesome. I am so excited for Season 2 and I hope that they get greenlit for it! Also, Twisted Metal BLACK is my favorite in the series BY FAR

The Angry evill Cop,,The Dude forced to become one with a giant Wheel,,,A Demon,,,A evil clown in icecream truck. This was as far as a story went.. ~I will say a finny memory was when you learned how to Jump & turn Invisible & that one homie learned how to create the shield aorund his vehicle. Goodtimes. And then it got real/ugly when that dude wouldn't reveal how he did it. lol

I think you nailed it here. I've been a TM fan since 95 and TM2 is my favorite of the series. I had 0 hope going into this show but thankfully I was proven wrong...some of the jokes definitely fell flat but man did I have a good time...also my wife who has minimal knowledge of the series loved it! I believe that says a lot. Season 2 has to happen!!

I felt the same. As a Twisted Metal fan from 1st game, I went in stoked for the madness. At first, I was like what heaped trash pile did I fall into? Like a trooper, I kept going at some point I was really enjoying it, being a comedy and all. I did NOT know Sweet Tooth was two actors. I thought it was the wrestler the whole way. Wow, that was amazingly done! I love the "Crazy flame head interpretation.

Agree with your comments. At first I didn't take to the main character and the humour was missing the mark but I was very pleasantly surprised at how it grew on me as the episodes went on. Loved the soundtrack too! I think they have given this the space to get closer and closer to the source material so I'll definitely be tuning in for season 2.

If you're sick and tired of bad VG adaptations, then Twisted Metal is the show for you. I binged the whole damn thing. Fans of the games will be very satisfied. Lots of easter eggs. I think the Darth Vader thing of "one actor does the physical work while another does the voice" should be done more often for these larger than life characters. Your review hits all the nails. Twisted Metal Black was my favorite. When I saw Trailer for Twisted Metal 2023 I said “NO please don’t ruin this franchise by making it a cringy comedy. I watched episode 1 and by episode 2 I fell completely in love. The show is far from perfect, but in the current climate of entertainment I desperately cling to this new show. In a perfect world this show might be a 5 or 6/10 but with creativity being so flat recently, this show, for me, is a strong 8/10. The 90s references when I grew up hit my feels so hard.

The series is pretty good. A lot of easter eggs and characters and cars from all the games. They made me care about the main characters and they were very well made. They even have Twisted Metal 3 and 4 characters there thats so cool. The people running the show clearly know this games. They made agent Stone and the Outlaw brothers part of the story in a coherent way. Not bad at all.

The music was just so nostalgic even if I didnt remember the names of some of the songs but I did remember those songs being played during my twisted metal days back in the late 90s and early 2000s hearing it took me all the way back and that's what sold me on this show including the comedy which was gold. Over all I'd give it a good 8 out of 10

That final episode. Thing of beauty. Its buildup and payoff is phenomenal. You almost want to recommend just watching that but without the other episodes it doesn't hit the same. To me then that makes a good show. Hears to episodes 6-10 being a tease of what's to come in season 2.

I didn’t think a show would make me care about a car. As a fan of the games I loved the show. My only gripe is the stories they went with preacher and mr.slam. But I think the story they came up with worked well. Looking forward to s2

Somoa Joe studied how Will Arnett delivered his lines, he watched his mannerisms to get his acting to match Wills speaking...Thats why it blended so well, Will Arnett is a great voice actor and Samoa Joe is perfectly emotive un his body movements.

This was way better than most of us expected. I'm happy how it turned out. I found Wil Arnetts voice didn't sound on sync for the scenes. Joe was excellent acting out the character, and you can see his chin move when he's "talking" but I thought his voice sounded like it was coming out of a radio.

What I really enjoyed about this show is that the only time they ever did something that looked ugly special effects wise or something like that was when they were really trying to go all out for the fans. Like they never seemed like they were just being cheap or something like that. It was definitely when they were going above and beyond.

Mr. Grimm does get a cameo at the end, actually (well, a photo of him anyway). I think my favorite joke in the series, because it *truly* understands Calypso, is when the package is revealed. And even that he had to dick with and make something the recipient wouldn't like. Avoiding spoilers here as much as possible, but such a little understated cherry on top just shows the love they had for this franchise.

Twisted Metal Black. Will always be peak for me. Played the hell out of every character. Needed to see their messed up backstories. And yeah, Mr. Grimm. I was surgical with his scythe attack. Mmmm good times. Hopefully he shows up in season 2.

All my friends clowned me for being excited about this show when i heard it was being made. Twisted Metal is in my top 5 games of all time, so I am the ideal target audience. Honestly, I probably would have been happy just to see the characters from my childhood on the screen... But now those same friends are all texting me today telling me how fun the show is and how much they are enjoying it. Now those schmucks want to hang out and dust off the PS1 so we can play.

Twisted Metal black is my favorite Twisted Metal game. The only ones that I never got a chance to play Twisted Metal 4 and the PlayStation 3 Twisted Metal game

I love Anthony Mackie, he really is great, and charismatic, but I agree that he should have been a more serious character, and the whole show should have taken itself more seriously, and let Sweet Tooth be the main source of comedy.

Definitely have no problem waiting for this on Bluray whenever that is. Despite the cheese, and forced humor looks like a fun iteration of the game series without being too dark/unsettling. (Every recent cinematic take on the MK franchise) PS3 release was surprisingly strong, but the throne of Twisted Metal Games still belongs to PS2s Black. How has this game never once been remastered/remade is beyond me.

I think they are going for the Twisted Metal 2 version of Calypso. In the reboot he was always serious but in the second game he was just as crazy as the other drivers.
