Is your goal to be a great actor and win an Oscar? Is this a reason why sales has such a bad reputation? Yes, you’ll pick up a few more sales by “acting” this way. 100% true people buy from people they trust. But the problem is most buyers are smarter than this, especially in B2B sales, and they will pick up on you not being authentic. When they do, you’re done. What if you were actually curious (instead of forcing a curious tone and facial expression) and truly concerned and empathetic (instead of pretending to be)….as your authentic self? Did the top 1% become the top 1% by mastering acting tips and tricks like this? No. They get there by getting real trust, and beat out the pretenders, because they do this authentically.
