Should diversity jobs be scrapped to save the taxpayer cash?
Rishi Sunak's 'common sense' minister, Esther McVey has announced plans to scrap jobs dedicated to equality, diversity and inclusion.
She says public money is being wasted on 'woke hobby horses' across Whitehall.
She also plans to meet bodies that have spent the most on external equality, diversity and inclusion and ask them to explain how spending this money is benefitting the taxpayer.

Diversity jobs are a total waste of money. The best person for the job should get it. Specifying race for a role is inherently racist.

@@peterholden3672 I have no problem with diversity I take issue with the position of a diversity officer demanding quotas based upon race. The only factor when deciding who to take on in a role should be the best person for the job regardless of there race or skin colour. Specifying one racial group for a role means discriminating against another.

@@peterholden3672 the law already made it happen my making it illegal to discriminate based upon race. Setting quotas is quite simply racist and rules out potentially better candidates because of there racial group and mearly shows how far we have fallen to allow such actions in a country built on law and order that fails to enforce its standards and rights for the vast majority of its population in favour of virtue signalling. There is no logical justification for normalising this kind of double tier enforcement of legal standards.

@@peterholden3672 the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor regardless of race because of the lack of social mobility in this country. Race has nothing to do with it. If your suggesting quotas for the above roles and education based upon a working class background that's something I would support but not discrimination by race.

@@peterholden3672 I havnt seen any evidence that this is the case in fact I'd say the opposite is true especially among larger businesses. If individual employers are discriminating against people based upon there race one way or the other they should be dealt with individually within the laws that already exist to combat such behaviour. Creating roles such as diversity officers specifically to discriminate against the majority of the population is however most certainly not the way to deal with it. Again race quite simply can not be allowed to be a factor when considering the best candidate for a position. A better use of the position of a diversity officer would be to screen application processes for all positions to ensure that people were only successful on merit and that race wasn't a factor in determining who was successful. As it stands you could have 3 candidates who were better qualified and suited for a position than the 4th but because staffing was deemed to have to many of there racial group already the 3 would be discounted and the 4th employed. That's wrong, its discriminatory and racist, worse still its normalised and openly accepted.

Common sense would mean that those in power stop getting rich by privatising everything that they can get their greedy hands on. Profits should be ploughed back into those companies to ensure the public receive the best service. It would also ensure that employees get paid a fairer wage than the slave wages they get now

When my mother was in hospital I was glad that their was black doctors and nurses on her ward as they understood certain issues within our race, white people can at times be ignorant maybe not necessarily any fault of their own. I'm not a fan of Diversity jobs they don't work It has to be the best person for the job, however, I had to be 3 times better than my white workmates just to be seen, and they would get the promotion over me despite being better at the job, life is tough wear a helmet lol, But forcing diversity can backfire badly e.g. the best pilots or based on numbers?? when I get on a plane I want the best man for the job.

A few years ago a plane got into difficulty but because of the pilot landed safely with 0 injuries. She was a former USAF fighter pilot. The plane and passengers couldn't have been in safer hands if Captain Sullenberger was flying it. Perhaps the reason you have been overlooked for jobs is because of your pitiful sexist attitude.
