Watching videos of abandoned mansions or castles bring to me an agonizing feeling of loneliness which makes me ask " Where are the people of the house?" And this make us remember that NOTHING LASTS FOREVER ! We are all just passing through in this life. When we are born, we bring nothing with us and when we go, we take nothing with us!

The biggest lesson to take from this video ...... ''When we die, It's not ''what'' we leave behind, it's ''who'' we leave behind that truly matter's. People will rarely remember the material thing you gave them, instead they remember all the incredible memories you made with them along the way.

A couple of months after the tragedy the wife sold the house and bought another one for them to live in. Things left around the house are from the latest tenants, NOT FROM THIS FAMILY. The youngest daughter is now also a doctor after her father. People who worked for him say he was a really good and honest man. Mother fell into depression after the tragedy, the kids seem to be successful grown-ups now. Amazing video, thank you for sharing it with us, Jeremy!

While some may focus on the greed and excess of this beautiful mansion, I find the story of the family more intriguing. What it must have been like for this family to have had to move out within 3 months of losing father and son. The inability to take so much with them. Was it because the bank wouldn’t let them, or the inability to take so much not knowing where they would go and the loss of the breadwinner leaving his wife to support the remaining 3 kids. While I appreciate seeing the mansion it leaves me wanting to know if the family landed on their feet. I care more about the human story than the lavish mansion. It’s like reading a good book but being denied the end of the story. I enjoyed the tour though.

I see a young wife wasting all her husband’s money on mindless trinkets. I’ve heard of people hoarding stuff like this without even removing the price tags. The irony is that this piece of architecture was never a cozy home, but an unreasonable display of wealth and status. Fate gave this family A LOT, but at some point it decided to ruin everything again. Now the house is not even the status symbol it was created to be, but ... nothing, i guess, as it will be difficult to find a new owner. To me, this is a lot of real badly spent money and a tragedy.

As a widow of a man that died in a house fire 2 days b4 Christmas, I can tell you the wife was probably so distraught losing the husband and a child that material things meant nothing. All she probably wanted was her family back. My house was a total loss & I never returned to get anything. Some family & friends went and brought me a few small things. At first all I kept saying was I didn’t care about it, I just wanted him. It wasn’t until probably a year later that I missed sentimental things. I watched this thinking how many of these I have watched and how many homeless people sleep outside or in tents. We have ways to curb homelessness and these mansions could be used as temporary housing.

But most importantly your Family was secure. Loved one's are the most important not material thing's, a roof over their head important. Great Job - as a retired builder it makes my heart ache for the work and love of labor that went into the building. Sadness for the loss for the family, regardless of rich or poor makes no difference.. It shows you come into this world naked and will leave the same no matter how much money or mansions you have..besides the loss and grief for those you leave behind.. and if I had the money and means I would purchase this estate and make something good out of it.. if this is left much longer empty more destruction will follow. So Sad - Never had any idea this existed.. . Thanks Job Well Done🤔😮‍💨😒👍

As a glazier by trade I can say all of the bathrooms had expensive frameless showers in them. The mirror job in the upstairs bathroom is a nightmare to install. What struck me is all of the tools that got left behind. If my tools were in there when the eviction came, I would retrieve them. In my eyes they don't belong to the bank, they belong to the tradesman that purchased them to work. What a waste of a great home! Painful to watch all this craftsmanship just wasting away...

This video just makes me sad. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a spouse/father/ bread winner and son/brother and then have to abandon the dream home you both worked so hard for. In a matter of weeks the mother and daughters lost their whole world. Goes to show even the super wealthy aren’t immune from disastrous heartbreak and loss. I hope the family was able to pick up and move on with their lives after such tragedy.

You bring up an interesting observation. I think that's what sets some of these locations apart; it's like stepping into a time capsule where the conditions are remarkably preserved. The fact that valuable items are still present and the place isn't trashed could indicate a variety of scenarios, such as a sudden departure where the owners couldn't take everything with them, or perhaps it's a lesser-known location that hasn't been disturbed. It does add an extra layer of mystery to the story, doesn't it? I assure you, what you see is as puzzling to me as it is to you. But that's the allure of exploring these places; each one has its own untold story. Thanks for watching and for your thoughtful comment.

I think a housing crash will happen because all those people who bought homes over asking price, although it was at a low interest rate, they are over their heads. They have no equity if the housing prices continue to go down, and if for whatever reason they cannot afford the house anymore and it goes into foreclosure because even if they try to sell, they will not make any money. I think this will happen to a lot of people especially with the massive layoff predicted for the future and the cost of living rising at a high speed.

Places that helped people like you and me, even saving life. How do you know he didnt donate a percentage of his earnings to charities? You think Catholic Charities and other non-profits stay open to help people off of the meager amounts collected on sundays when they pass the hat around? Its rich people and their massive donations that keep these non-profits functioning. The Legal Mexican. Hmm, your handle implies a few scenerios. One, you were once an illegal mexican who gained citizenship thru a program like DACA, courtesy of the taxpaying public of these United States (in that case, youre welcome for our gracious charity) or your handle is a play of words on the fact that you are a Mexican American who went to school and became a lawyer of sorts, and if thats true you most likely needed a scholarship (more charity sponsored by successful Alumnus, again, youre welcome), unless you come from a wealthy family that paid your way. I doubt you put yourself thru law school (if you are a lawyer) because if you did, you would appriciate the story of another self-made man and wouldnt be bashing someone over being successful. Either way, you've benefitted off the charity of the wealthiest Americans. The US doesnt have any money, its not a business. The only money the US has is OUR money, the money we pay in taxes and despite what some of these politicians say to get elected, the wealthy DO pay their fair share of taxes. The middle class pay the majority because they've been the majority taxpaying block. The poor pay sales tax and thats it. The wealthy, the smallest tax paying block, pay the highest rate in income taxes. Do stop with the bashing of successful Americans and stop believing the lies of the activist crowds that say the rich pay nothing and contribute nothing. It's sad to see a Beautiful Mansion just sitting there unused. A tragic story. This is a good example of no matter what you have, you can't take it with you when you die. Maybe focus on relationships and family & making memories, that''s what's really important. Thank you Jeremy for another fascinating video. Btw, those shoes could be donated to those less fortunate. Lots of kids don't have shoes & simple necessities. It's a shame they can't be put to use somehow.

It's so sad, that doctor worked his whole life to build this place and never even got to finish it. It looks like they were planning on spending their first Christmas there before tragedy struck. I imagine he had to spend years going to med school to get to his level and never got a chance to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

looks more like a suicide to me, not paying the insurance for 2 months sounds fishy too because i am pretty sure he can afford to pay the premiums at the time of his demise? not paying for 2 months looks intentional. as per the video, the wife seems to be living a very lavish lifestyle? maybe the doc discovered something about the wife? hmmmmmm just my imagination at work 😊✌🏼

@@neverppreciated I would have thought suicide except that he had his son with him. With the expense of the house and all of those clothes/make up that clearly showed a wife that shopped just to spend money, is seems more like he had over-extended himself and cut out what he thought was not necessary, probably figuring to get life insurance again when the house was done an he had things under control again.

This is incredible, I've never been to somewhere where there is that much expensive stuff just left behind. Thank you for creating and sharing this amazing video. What a stunning home. The amount of detail in this home is insane and the amount of stuff left behind and just forgotten. Incredible 🤯

The wife prob couldn’t take it all in such a rush and only took what mattered to her at the time to make sure her and her other 3 kids could have a new life. I know for my I’ve had to leave in a rush moving and had to leave a ton of things behind not millionaire worthy stuff. So sad. I feel for this family and house.

Appears by the tags on the clothes and the high end multiples of so many things it is a mid level theft ring. They squat there with their small dog(s) from time to time and sell the items as they go along in time. Possibly the person(s) responsible for cleaning and maintaining the place interim until the place is sold. Just an idea from a retired cop. Very awesome episode!

I work at a furniture and clothing consignment house. There are STILL lots of items in this house worth thousands upon thousands of dollars! Brian Atwood is a famous shoe designer. And just the Hermes, Chanel and other empty designer boxes are worth money! Since there are surrounding houses, it looks like they have private security preventing looting.

I don't understand why so many personal items were left behind. The only reason I could think of was that the last owners were in a hurry to leave the house because their lives were in danger.

Life my friends, is the key ! Take care of yourselves and be grateful for what you have or even don't have. You take nothing with you when you die and cannot enjoy what you have if you're sick or get sick. Be careful, don't take unnecessary risks that could endanger your life. What a crazy and very wasteful world.

@@johnchef1195 your words seem pretty scrambled. I think you meant it wouldn't be a problem for a millionaire which is true. However, it's obvious (with this case being a good example) that those funds would be better spent elsewhere. Maybe by helping those who are sincerely in need. They could've at least given the clothes, shoes and cars to those who would've really appreciated it.

Something tells me that the people that bought this house from the Dr.'s family may not have been on the up and up. Too many boxes of high end new items laying around with the price tags attached. I really feel for the Dr.'s family losing both father and son in an instant. One of the posts below explains that what happened to the family and it sounds like they have successful lives. The 3rd floor was probably meant for service staff.

It boggles my mind as to why the wife didn't come get all her personal stuff like her clothes ad makeup? And all the clothes with the tags still on them, plus the shoes!!!! She had several hundred dollars if not more worth of make up! I am just blown away by all that expensive stuff lying around..not to mention those cars! Great episode, but definitely sad to see so much left behind!!!❤
