The downstairs/basement was something I’ve dreamed of having. I’m somewhat reclusive and would end up living in that part of the house lol but it’s just so cool! I struggle to come up with the words to accurately describe the way something so architecturally pleasing lifts my soul and inspires me. It seriously does something to me. It’s amazing! Walking down and seeing the pool and columns first thing and how it looks like something a Roman/Greek king or royal family would live in…amazing!

Well, that's why you see kitchens and bathrooms everywhere. Who whatevers going to live there when it's sold, actually end to live only around certain areas. You just can't live your normal day by day routine exploring all of what house has to offer. Adding to that, you probably will end up with a staff of around 5 people just to mantain things rolling and a lots of children's or close family and friends.

Actually, this house would be considered modest by the standards of the country estates built centuries ago in Michael's & Adam's home country of the UK. Or Downton-Abbey (Highclere Castle)-type places. So living big, large & ostentatious is an old-time custom. Across the Channel, I read that although the Palace of Versailles slicked up by Louis 14th in the 1600s (but really a semi-public building) was very huge & fancy too, it had such a lack of basic plumbing (a standard lost since ancient Rome), that visitors complained about the stench of human waste wafting through the place.

So many times I've seen huge houses, but they are very sparsely furnished, with none of the attention to detail this beauty possesses. This is an estate, the true definition of the word. This is the type of place that you have family and friends always coming and going, huge events, fundraisers, dinners, cocktail parties, etc. I just can't get over the attention to detail in every room. A truly magnificent property from start to finish.
@kana41142 жыл бұрын
By far this is the most amazing home you've toured and my new personal favorite. It is done with such exceptional attention to detail that most would never know how difficult it was to design and build to that level. For example, all the baseboards, doors, door casements and other millwork is exceptional. The level of design and edge work detail on the Blue Bahia granite in the lower pool kitchen was amazing! A slab (typically 3' X 8" or more) of Blue Bahia from Brazil can cost well over $3,000.00! Thank you for sharing this home!

This may be the nicest home you have ever shown. Livable, useful space... I could see myself and two or three of my daughters and their families living here full time and each have their own section to call home. So if it's two homes in one that is $24m per home and if three families were here that would only be $17.5m per home. I could see my grandkids enjoying the features this home has to offer.... plus adequate covered parking. You know we never got to see the pool house. So, two chefs plus sous chefs. Head of house with 3 to 5 maid's. 2 or 3 Butlers, Grounds keeper plus 1 or 2 helpers. Seasonal or As Needed.

@pmp13372 жыл бұрын
This was hilarious, creepy and fascinating. Definitely worth the 42mins I spent watching. But what is the story behind this house? They could have done the basements after the main but that would be a nightmare engineering wise. This must have been built with the 3 basements from the beginning, those backrooms and service hall have 80's vibes. Nowadays, first, no one would have made such a layout, and second, when you build service corridors you leave the conduit and piping in plain sight for easy access. Imagine you are the guy they call to fix the boiler! 😨 I wouldn't want to live in an house with corridors that give me the heebie jeebies!
@gagehoover142 жыл бұрын
I think the layout could be repeated today or something similar, but obviously more modernized and made for ease of access for any maintenance. This house was built in 1927 so its outdated for sure when it comes to the actual structure of it. Id love to see a similar house built today that has this amount of amenities but with all the technological advances we have today.

If you check out Enes Yilmazer, he did a tour on this awhile back, and he always provides way more info than anyone else.
@gridley2 жыл бұрын
Apparently Enes filmed this place a few years ago, so Michael & Adam aren't the first to show it on YT. However, they're more entertaining to watch. Since they haven't done a home tour in awhile, I thought they had run out of places to cover. That's why I at first thought they grabbed this to feature since it was new. But I guess not. A spec-type house built in a traditional style with more bells & whistles than the market can possibly support (those underground tunnels must have added a lot to the price tag) must be why so far only looky-loos have gone through it. Incidentally, owners of luxury properties in London are digging down over 60-70 feet under an old row-house-type mansion in order to add amenities like those in this property in Bel Air. But something about LA's terrain, weather and history provide for homes that are a combination of a country estate in the UK (although smaller with way less land---only Hearst Castle up north comes closer to that), a big place in the Spanish or French hills along the Mediterranean and a luxury residence in a crowded city like London, Paris or NYC. Or similar to a private version of No 10 Downing St.

Beautiful mansion! Who's home did this use to be? It's definitely designed and built with the intention of entertaining and having a lot of people come to visit, and famous people that want to have fun things to do, but don't want to deal with press and fans. So, they can have a really real experience of going to a movie theater, bowling alley, basketball, volleyball, gym, in and outdoor pools, and other games like playing pool, and whatever else we didn't see! Amazing! Did anyone else think about how lonely one could be in this mansion? In-between a house full of guests, the day to day life, I'd think could be overwhelmingly lonely. Was there a part of the house that was more private, dare I say cozy!? I almost said, "homey" but there doesn't seem to be any part of this mansion, that you would ever consider such a thing! Like Producer Michael and the cameraman videoing said, it is a lot like an extravagant hotel! For sure! I loved the indoor and outdoor pools! I'd love to know who owned or still owns this house, does anyone know? Thanks for the fun tour Michael! ❤👍🏽

The quality of this home is one of the best I've seen, Marble, exotic woods, fancy kitchen, granite, marble, stone, custom fireplaces, wood parquet floors, they didn't hold back, the got the best of everything. I wonder who built it, how long they lived there, how big of family, the wife was flambouent because did you see her bathroom with the big picture of high heels and that huge eval tub. Thats a girls dream. I love all the huge window with light coming in. The living room coming in was too dark for me but I loved the open bright corridors. Those 3 bedrooms down that long hall would be a lot of walking so you stay in shape. But, it is spooky being in such a gigantic home and maybe be back in your bedroom, knowing the rest of that huge house may be empty. You would have to have servents, maids cleaning all the time, the upkeep is never ending which would drive me crazy. Those giant bathrooms are overkill to me, having to clean the huge bathroom floors. Just so much money for what??? Money doesn't make you happy!!! The wife or him probably had affairs and got a divorce...can you imagine spliting up the earnings? Just too many questions. Its sure a clean tidy house for no one living there. I would love to see it but would not want to live there, unless it was downsized extensively. I love the land, pool and open outdoor spaces. Thanks for the fun, its just hard to see why people think they need all this.

This is my favorite house ever! It's not that expensive, compared to other homes that are 30/ 40 million. What you get here for the money is well worth it. I don't think I've ever seen Michael so excited about a house before.. Before this house of course.. If I hit the mega millions lottery. I'd buy the house.

This house is just something else. I love how they used the terrain to still bring in so much natural light. I would love to see videos of its construction if ever its out there.

I feel sorry for the poor people who have to keep this house in such a spotless condition. I'd need a map to move around in there 😂
