Jericho to Jerusalem, walking the ancient trail of the Good Samaritan

We attempt to walk from Jericho to Jerusalem along the ancient path which the Good Samaritan would have taken. An epic 2-day journey via the Wadi Qelt (River Kelt) and Saint George Monastery!
This hike follows a narrow path between the mountains for over 30 miles (50km). And in the midst of the empty wilderness, we found water!
Correction at 8 minutes 46 seconds (8:46) - The Monastery was destroyed by the Persians, not the Muslims.

The greatest that ever lived; He had no servants, yet they called Him Master. He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet Kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He had no crime, yet they crucified Him. He had no need, yet He forgave them as they mocked. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. His name is Jesus Christ and He is the Saviour of the world.

I once took a taxi from Jerusalem to Jericho, I thought that was an adventure. I wondered what it would be like to climb. Now I don't have to anymore. This was a amazing. Gives you a real appreciation for what our Lord went through. And the Pastors feet on hot asphalt!

I've been watching your videos for a week now. There's something so comforting in watching them. I'm a missionary and have gone through soo much over the last three years. I closed my eyes and broke out in tears towards the end from the part where the pastor began to talk about not knowing that each hill was another journey ahead all the way to the end of the recording because it was like God was saying, just a little longer.

Imagine how Jesus walked all the way just to preach the gospel and remind us from sin. How many days? It took months, he dont use his power to make airplane to reach his destination, he just walked all way back and forth. Even he is fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. So brethrens Let's accept Jesus as our personal Savior. He did all things just to reach us to save us from death and darkness.

Did anyone notice that the entire way is an ascent? Hence, "let's go up to Jerusalem" has much meaning
@128126178

Meaning of Jericho? City of the moon. City speaks of circumstances, the moon speaks of us (lighter light) therefore Jericho is "Circumstances of our life" - tear it down (self will) and rise up towards Yerushalayim (City of Peace or Circumstances of the will of "I AM")

Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Thats what came to mind❤

On the road of Jericho, did you see, those deep valleys along the road, that is what he was talking about the valleys of shadow of death, when lambs would run off from the Ewe, the shepherd would go find it, and break it's leg, so it would have to stay close to the Ewe so it could travel, ever had something like this happen to you, to keep you close, this is HIS MERCY TO KEEP PEOPLE SAFE.

Když tak člověk přemýšlí nad příběhem milosrdného Samaritána a nad tím, že tudy šel Ježíš s učedníky, tak to se ten biblický příběh bude číst jinak. Am in the tropics where I was really bless with so many resources to be thankful for, but seeing this, I prayer that God will forgive me if I have complain so much 😢❤🙏.And this gives me confidence to say Jesus Christ loves us so much that He had to walk these miles and do the work for the fulfillment of God's divine plan for humanity in such barren and uncomfortable places like this, above all else, He finally willing to lay down His life on the cross to die for us, what a love that no man could utter a word to say thank you Lord for all that you've done. Love that no one can comprehend to infinity ❤❤❤❤🙏

Your hike is like our journey in the Lord, we go through valleys, hills, and hard places. Then we find refreshing in the lord, {like you found the water.} Then as we get closer to the finish line we keep going and walking, till we cross the finish line and find ourselves home. You were all three so brave to recreate the journey, ESPECIALLY the one who was barefooted!! If I wore a hat I would tip it to him!!! Wow!! Thank you for sharing your journey loved it!!

What a wonderful place! Sooooo amazing! I couldn't imagine where those goats coming from? How they lived in the mountain without any grass at all? How they eat or where did they get their food (grass) to eat? And there's no even trees or shade. Oh my! And i am mesmerized with the beauty of the wilderness. The water streams. While watching the video, I am also imagining the footsteps of Jesus. Thank you so much Sergio, Rhoda and company for sharing it with us. Hoping to be part of your journey someday. Once again thank you so much, and God bless you always.
