Jerma will do the most intentional, deliberate, easy-to-understand action and then go "what happened? WHAT HAPPENED?"
@kalimaude35327 ай бұрын
The thing is, he's right. Jerma, much like the Joker he inspired, suffers from a form of "super-sanity." He is acutely aware of everything that is happening at all times, and is unable to relegate any of it to routine or subconscious processing. This means that he is aware of every minute little thing that happens between Cause and Effect, and gets lost in the immensity of it. This leads to things like holding up a geode while bellowing "MAGIC! POWERS!"; everyone knows that geodes are amazing, but most of us come to terms with that and accept it fairly quickly. Jerma is forever trapped in the first initial moment of boggling at the incredible crystal, and at everything else. He's extremely functional, considering all that. It just means that sometimes, when he pushes a cup off a table, he is alarmed by the noise when it breaks on the floor; not because he wasn't expecting it, but because in order to link those two ideas he needs to think about all of gravity first, and sometimes gets lost along the way on stuff like accretion disks. But he's not wrong. It is absolutely batshit that everything pulls on everything else, but the thing we're standing on is so big it pulls everything towards it vastly more than anything else pulls towards each other. That is Bananas Town. Any amount of thinking about it and you will remember that geodes are, in fact, magic powers. Holy shit lookit all them lil facets in that rock egg. Jerma is our sibyl, our Oracle of Delphi; in his tortured writhings and fevered ramblings, we can glean hints of the truth of the universe. Anyway I liked it in this one when he Hit a Man.
