@@gavinzvideodump3083 Take what I say with a grain of salt, but basically, the creators of AID downgraded their AI models after this whole incident where they were apparently spying on people’s private (and sometimes NSFW) stories, and filtering what they could input. I think this is what led to the creation of other AID alternatives like Novel AI. My words probably don’t give the whole situation justice, but I think I got the gist of it down.

@@gavinzvideodump3083 a more detailed summary of events is that OpenAI, the company that produced the AI that AIDungeon used, has rules against making the AI produce output of illegal stuff, including NSFW content featuring underaged people. Latitude, the devs of AID, realized that some people were doing that with AID and, not wanting to lose access to OpenAI's AI, cracked down very hard. They had a large list of keywords that, if detected, would simply refuse to produce an output, including the word "child" and "fuck" regardless of context. using these words would also subject yourself to your stories possibly being read and examined by a real person. the entire player base was generally anxious of their privacy possibly being invaded, and a non-insignificant amount of the player base was frustrated that, because of the ultra-wide net the devs cast, they could not use AID to make legal smut anymore. The devs, in about a months time I believe, realized that attempting to stay in kahoots with OpenAI was a losing battle as they experienced an exodus. So, they cut ties with OpenAI and developed a new in house AI, and lifted a majority of the restrictions. The new AI they made, though, is generally agreed upon to being much poorer quality than anything OpenAI provided.
