The 9:23 story is kind of amazing; it honestly reads kinda silly at first and slowly devolves into dream-within-a-dream surrealism and nigh unsettling repetitive madness dealing with cellphones, death and regrets. It's like the shot to the head at the beggining caused the protagonist to get caught in a quickly degrading memory loop featuring this "Dawn" lady he once knew. If I was gonna interpret it, it would go like this: First, while tracking his Mom's killer through a forest, the protag accidentally shoots himself in the head and astral projects at the beggining of his dream. Seeing his own head wound he seeks medical attention, but in reality his body remains unconcious in the forest. After visiting the "hospital", the protagonist returns to the forest and reminisces over his dead mom and his desire for revenge. The encounter with the criminal results in a kidnapping, a struggle and a victory. Having achieved his revenge his mind turns to memories of his youth, causing his dream to de-age him (he notices he is no longer bald). Immediately after satiating his desire to avenge his long dead mother the prominent figure of Dawn enters the scene, someone who once saved the protagonist, presumably by being there for him after the death of his mother. Meeting her again now is like a confirmation of his recent achievement, as in his desire for revenge he had left the memory of Dawn behind. He thanks her for being there for him despite his selfish drives leading him away from her. She is there to congratulate him with her presence, after all. Unfortunately, he knows that Dawn did something awful in the waking reality, leading to her eventual arrest. Regardless, he can't help but remember the good times they had together in their youth; their comfortable relationship, how she helped him academically, the prom they went to together, those tender moments... But eventually it becomes too much. His memories are confused and twisting in on themselves. On some level he realises that his body is bleeding out from a headwound in that forest - and on top of that his mother's killer is still out there. Upon realising his revenge wasnt real, tge protagonist tries to escape the dream. He needs to wake up but he can't. Nothing is working; the dream is breaking down and "Dawn" is tempting him to stay in his unconscious delusions; just bleed out and relive the good, comforting times with her. He panics, he tries to kill himself just to wake up, but the dream keeps twisting in on him; repeating, repeating, repeating. Finally, when the -program- dream breaks down, the main character finally wakes up in the forest, still with his his head trauma from the beggining -- only to get shot by the criminal he was chasing and die anyway, this time without having his revenge or a Dawn to comfort him.

He nearly drowns in a boat later. He proceeds to have a merry adventure with a boulder after washing ashore. The boulder scams him but he eventually convinces the Boulder to give him 7 million dollars. The boulder says he will pay him the next morning. The rogue now wizard goes to the bank. The boulder awakes after realizing he killed the wizard who gave him sentience by rolling on him. The spirit of the wizard says it wasn't his fault. After this he speaks with the man who scammed him in the beginning, who does not recognize him. He meets a woman, gives her a million souls and despite his many atrocities he goes to heaven.

I think I figured out the story of Drew the Detective. Drew is pursuing a criminal, the man who killed his mother. He has finally found him and followed him into the woods. He hears a noise behind him and turns, he gets shot in the head but miraculously survives. He goes to the hospital and has a year long recovery. He later goes back to the forest and gets revenge on the criminal who shot him by torturing and killing him. He feels free, having avenged the death of his mother. But he slowly starts to notice things aren't right- he used to be bald but suddenly he has hair, he doesn't remember putting on the suit he is wearing, the pictures on the wall have changed. One day at the station, he finds his old Highschool girlfriend, Dawn, sitting on his desk. Seeing her brings up a lot of old memories. He reminisces on how Dawn saved his life once when they were kids. He calls Dawn's mom (who is also named Dawn) to catch up and tells her about how he avenged his own mother's death. Dawn and Drew go to Burger King to catch up. She finally tells him why she came to see him after all these years. She's in deep with the law and she wants Drew to help her get out of trouble. But Drew can't afford an investigation on him, his job means to much, plus he just tortured a man to death. He denies her request. Dawn says that if she is going to jail, she wants him to be the one to arrest her. She says she wants a head start and to meet her at her apartment when he's ready. He goes to her. They start to reminisce on the time they went to prom together and how they were in love. They decide to spend the night together before he has to take her to jail. When he wakes up the next morning, he handcuffs her to a chair and breaks her phone, he tells her he is going to turn himself in and take credit for all her crimes so she can be free. When he gets to the station she is already there, and has been arrested. _"How could she have gotten here before me?"_ He calls Dawn. She answers. _"But...I destroyed her phone..."_ He tries again to destroys her phone. He calls her. She answers. _"This isn't right. None of this is right..."_ As Dawn is taken to jail he says to her, "Enjoy your 30 years in prison". He doesn't know why he said that. That night he is trying to sleep but is wracked with guilt. Everything seems wrong. Suddenly, he awakes in a hospital bed. It was all a dream. The nurse stands at the end of the bed. "You're going to die soon. You're brain cancer is terminal. You can choose to die or you can choose to live." "I...I choose to live" says Drew. "You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live. You choose to live." The words echo over and over again in his mind. The world goes dark. "I lived!" He screams into the void. "You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived. You lived" the void echoes back. Suddenly he is in a white room with nothing but a table and chairs. At the end of the table, the last chair swivels around and the man in it points a gun at him. He recognizes that man. The man shoots him. Drew wakes up. He stands. He is disoriented. He tries to call Dawn. She answers. There's no one on the other line. Drew wakes up. He goes to the door and opens it. It's Dawn. She is looking down at him. He is confused. Dawn puts a finger to her lips and winks. He smiles, he is still confused but he trusts her. They spend some time together. Dawn cares for him. But Drew knows something is wrong, everything is just slightly off. He is trapped. He tries to drink drain cleaner to kill himself so he can be free. Nothing. He jumps from the window. Nothing. He rushes into traffic. As the bright lights of the oncoming car approach Drew wakes up. He's in the same place. Dawn is at the door. This loops several times until finally he realizes: He can't choose to live. This is all there is. He has to choose to die. Drew is thrust back into his body, back in the woods where he pursued the criminal. He hears a noise behind him, he gets shot. He dies. The End.

AI dungeon 2 is really funny a lot of the time but sometimes it railroads you so hard you cant do anything for 33 thousand years to finally be able to do stuff for the first time. "Thirty six years after that, you finally reach the age of thirty three thousand. You are tired of living in misery and decide to kill yourself by jumping off a bridge. Unfortunately, you do not land on your feet and instead end up breaking both legs and almost killing yourself as well." this quote was repeated around 20 times
