He didn't say anything bad about Janet or the Brothers. You have to listen beyond the N word. He's basically giving them props and saying that they are REAL PEOPLE aside from the stardom. They were the 1ST to do it! He's talking bout how real and straight up Janet was and is...he's always said that about her. NO shade was thrown! They from the G...like me and they as real as u can get! #GARYINDIANA ❤ BORN AND RAISED!

He was trying to say that because the Jacksons are so famous, some tend to forget that this is a black family, that came from a blue-collared neighborhood in Gary, Indiana. Behind the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, they're no different than the rest of us. If it weren't for their fame, they could easily blend in with the rest of us, and if we knew them, we'd probably recognize our own family in them. They were hip to things and saw more than most could ever imagine because they were privy to more. People forget that. The Jacksons were exposed to things as adolescents that grown men hadn't even been exposed to. They weren't as cookie-cutter as their images portrayed them to be, including Michael. The Jacksons have never forgotten who they are and even if you watch old and new interviews those roots are still in them, just like the rest of us. In hindsight, as wild as Jermaine probably was in his day, he probably wouldn't be able to teach the Jacksons anything they didn't already know. That's what he was getting at, but he took the ignorant approach instead of taking the time to articulate himself.

Loved the interview...interesting...I understood where he was coming from. The Jackson's showed him a different side of being black in the industry. You don't have to change who you are, but know how to conduct yourself when you are out in the public. I think that lesson was probably missed on his part. IJS...lol I got the message and sounds like he has A LOT OF LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE JACKSON FAMILY!

No he wasn't. He was saying The Jackson's still have a little bit of "hood" in them because you can take somebody out the hood. You can't always take the hood out of them. And that Janet called him out on shit by saying she has brothers, so there's nothing he could do or say that she's not intelligent enough to see through.

Most African Americans claim Native American including myself but if you were not culturally raised in that setting technically that won’t even acknowledge you. The white part could have been a result of rape. That’s just the reality of slavery and slave life. None of it matters he’s still Black.

Reading these comments have me laughing lol. I know it's years later, but some of these people in the comment section is acting as if Janet has the greatest dating history lol. I love me some Ms. Jackson, but while y'all dogging out Jermaine, let's not forget she had a secret marriage to one of thebDebarge boys, she didn't reveal she was married to Rene (her back up dancer) until their divorce, revealed at one point that she had a crush on Puffy 🤷🏿‍♀️. She likes what she likes, and Jermaine is her cup of tea. She said herself that he was the best man she ever had. Anywho, lol
