I was fortunate enough to see Jerrod perform in NYC in September. He was the most amazing performer I’ve ever seen. I mean comedian, musical act, play, etc. His performance wasn’t scripted and just very spontaneous. He would have these thoughtful pauses, where he’d just look down, sometimes they could last up to a minute. It was truly using the medium as therapy. He was very confessional, raw, honest, but somehow still hilarious. I wish so much that I lived there where I could see him perform often. If the chance ever arises again, I will be there. If you ever have the opportunity to see him live just do it.

I assumed that for the rest of the time the Globes were a thing, I probably wouldn’t register they were even happening. If Ricky Gervais hosted again, I guess I’d find out, probably way after after it aired, and I would watch the monologue. I’m happy when something really good is recognized, but it doesn’t make up for how aggressively out of touch the whole thing is. So, this is both shocking and exciting.
