Oh my, I'm 32 now and ever since I saw Bad Boys in 1996 on that VHS (I still have right here) I have this special spot in my heart for this guy like some sort of relative family member that delivers banger movies every year up until "the pirates" as I can't really say any movie ever since 2005-2006 up until Maverick now. I don't think I had ever seen Jerry Bruckheimer talking before. I mean, I love cinema and obviously I know who is he, there was a point during the late 90s and early 00s where he was doing a lot of mindless action movies and movie critics kinda hated him, but he was involved in a shitload of big hits. Not one or two, but a *shitload* . He is a freaking legend in Hollywood. And I find amazing how simple and humble he sounds. He literally made billions for big studios and he sounds like he did a few nice little movies here and there.

You're not missing much tbh, Maverick is superior in every way (except maybe the soundtrack lol). The dogfighting was impressive for 1986, but the editing made it feel choppy and very unexciting... Maverick is crystal clear and genuinely thrilling. One of the few sequels that surpasses the original.
