The reason Kurdecha couldn't properly hook Jerry is because his cupping was not good enough
@Dmgolfer223 күн бұрын
I just think Jerry had too much side pressure. He was just faster and stronger. I don’t think it was about cupping. more about Jerry blowing Alex outside of his shoulder. More about angles. Alex was cupped but just blown outside his shoulder.

@@Dmgolfer22 He cannot go sideways if he's fully supinated and without his wrist, just look at his match against Ermes
@Pepe-pq3om3 күн бұрын
@@Dmgolfer22 Alex never got a deep grip, and never was able to fully bend his wrist (only slightly), this is what I'm talking about. If we talk about Jerry vs Ermes again, look at how deep Ermes' grip in the set up was, he did that because he knew the priority was to maximize his ability to cup his wrist as hard and as fast as he could to deny Jerry the ability to flop press by controlling his rotation.
@Dmgolfer223 күн бұрын
@ Ermes took center from Jerry. Jerry took center from Alex. That’s the main difference. Jerry doesn’t consciously flop off the go. He wants to hook/press and supinates as well but flops when needed. Ermes was just too strong and too fast that day for that version of Jerry. A healthy Jerry is just fine with you supinating as he will supinate/cup with you and press.
@Pepe-pq3om3 күн бұрын
@@Dmgolfer22 He can only press while supinated if he have his wrist. Yes, Ermes took center from Jerry, but the reason he was able to do so is precisely because he was able to control Jerry's pronator and then took his wrist easily, and because Jerry didn't have his pronator he couldn't flop press. Denis did something similar, he grabbed Jerry low and completely demolished his rotation, from there Jerry was helpless. And this talk that Jerry wants to get in a hook is myth, what he wants is for you to try to catch him in a hook by going forward so that he can shoulder roll you, but if he can't flash pin in or pin you in the first couple of surges in that supinated press, he is in trouble 99,9% of the time. Some examples of these are his encounters with Devon, Ivan Matyushenko, Denis, Chaffe and even Zoloev, who was less then half his weight. Hookers usually beat Jerry if they aren't bated into trying to toproll him.

High hook out of straps kinda, or a high hook with shoulder commitment, very hard to maintain pronation while so close to body as you have no access to back pressure

I think that Alex just needed more side pressure. He actually got all the hand positioning he needed, he just couldn't keep Jerry from going sideways, and then he had to use dragging back pressure to roll out. If you're gonna hook Jerry you either have to be so much stronger like ermes that you just blast through him, although I believe jerry got sick in the lead up to that match, OR you have to match his shoulder commitment and bump him off line. Fundamentally that's what devon did in WAL he was super aggressive in the set-up to get his shoulder inside of jerry's and win the bone line.
