Alice in Chains has been a huge band for me, since first hearing Facelift. Jerry Cantrell easily one of my favourite players of all time. Looking forward to this!

Necrotic Nick- We're diehard AIC fans here. I became a fan pretty much the first time I heard Man in the Box. Dirt might be one of my all time favorite albums and Jerry is largely the reason. The dude's knack for dreary hooks is almost unmatched.

Alice In Chains is my all time favorite band, and obviously I love Jerry, so a new solo record from him is basically just as good as new AiC at this point. 🤘

Necrotic Nick- One of my favorite bands ever as well and Jerry is one of the biggest reasons for that. If I can't get and AIC album this year I'll gladly take a Jerry solo album.

Necrotic Nick- He's always been a favorite of mine and his songwriting still holds up so damn well. Been jamming Degradation Trip and Boggy Depot while I was waiting for my copy of this one to show. Still amazing work to this day.

1st, RIP to the Legend Paul Dianno, I will always love those 1st 2 Maiden albums. RIP Legend. Now, I love AIC, Dirt is actually my favorite album ever. I could definitely. Jerry knows how to make such amazing hooks and has fantastic vocals still.

Necrotic Nick- Yeah, that most certainly wasn't the news I wanted to wake up to today. We lost a true legend today. AIC is one of my all time favorite bands and it's large in part to Jerry's songwriting. He just knows how to write these amazing dreary hooks and his vocals are oddly soothing.

Good, thoughtful review! Admittedly, I’m a late bloomer to AIC in that in their heyday, I was too happy for their heavy tone, and now after more life, loss, I’m obsessed with JC, just saw the bush loaded tour, his band did a great set. Afterglow is the easy reach more accessible song, radio ready like you said. I don’t love the cover track, but I love Jerry’s lyrics, and voice. Let it lie, echoes, I like all his solos and his overall AIC sound. Def can hear influences of sabbath, thin lizzy…which I grew up on. Vilified, I heard a review say the production was flawless, and to my ear for what it’s worth, that switch up to you oughta know, it’s a helluva show, I felt didn’t belong, out of place. I’m excited people buy albums in this time of streaming, I had no idea! I may catch his tour ny next year.

Necrotic Nick- Hey! Thanks, man! I'm glad you dug it! I've been a fanboy of AIC and by extent Jerry Cantrell since I was a teen in the 90's and this band and him in general still have such a profound influence on my tastes and all that came flooding back with this one. The 3 track run of Echoes of Laughter, Throw Me a Line and Let it Lie are up there with some of his best work. It shows off so many different facets of Jerry's songwriting and holy shit can he write a hook. My copy got here today and I can't wait to jam the hell out of it in the car.

Necrotic Nick- It doesn't quite match up to Degradation Trip but I really enjoyed this. Jerry is a beast of a writer across the board. AIC have no bad albums in my opinion and Jerry's solo material is killer too for the most part.

Necrotic Nick- For the longest time I only knew Jerry Reed from the Smokey and the Bandit flicks. I just thought he was an actor and then years later I found out that the dude is a country legend. I'm not even a country fan but man could that dude play.

@@thrallsofmetal I'm not big on country either, unless they're a bluegrass band that can shred. Like BIlly Strings and Marcus King. Marcus King is dope af too btw. Allman Bros with jazz/soul. Insanely good stuff. Check out The Marcus King band Jam in the Van Rita is Gone. I rewould that ish like 100 times and sent it to my friends and was like dude...uhhh...I'm stoned but is this as good as I think it is.....Nah dude, Marcus King is special. And he covers War Pigs live too. So he knows whats up.

Necrotic Nick- I like the song but it didn't grab me as much as others. Let it Lie and Echoes of Laughter might have stolen the top marks for me but I really dig the entire album honestly.

This is a solid album. Cantrell can certainly write a tune, and his harmonies are excellent...Are you guys gonna go over the new Grand Magus? Its their best for a while imo.

Unbelieveable to me that Layne convinced Jerry way back in the day to step out from behind the harmonizing and the guitar virtuosity and become a singer because he didn't feel he had the talent to do it...

AIC best cd was facelift and without Layne it’s just not AIC. You can get all the replacements u want but he was the true voice of AIC. Although Jerry did have some vocal parts, obviously. I also saw the original lineup with Sepultura(the real Sepultura) & Ozzy, waaay back in the day. That was AIC and they were phenomenal!!! 🤘🏼

Necrotic Nick- I love Facelift but the GOAT in my opinion will always be Dirt. Layne's voice was one of kind in opinion but Jerry's always been the heart of that band and the guy that wrote the bulk of the tunes. I still love AIC in this current run but I'll probably always gravitate more toward the classic stuff.

I saw Jerry with Alice in Chains in 2016 opening for Guns N' Roses. I saw that show in Seattle at Lumen Field in August of 2016, three months before the infamous election where Donald Trump won [f**k that guy!] I have not been back to Seattle since then.
