I remember him saying he couldn't play with a thumb-pick - now he can. I have a bog-standard tele with Barden pickups and it sounds very similar to this. I never achieved the tone he got from playing 'The Beak' on Equinox back in 1987.

Very interesting. Never seen a pickup with a cap in the windings. Think I'll look a bit harder and give that bending after the nut a go.

So much of what he talks about went into his Hellecaster signature with Fender

Bought one of these at the weekend as I was looking for something to replace 3 guitars. Absolutely amazing guitar. The combination of tones from a single guitar is mind blowing. The Seymour Duncans combined with wiring on this guitar are amazing. My poor €1,500 telecaster is relegated to the corner.

What Duncan's worked for you? I tried sd broadcaster with his harness

@@Grindstaff09 Hi, it was the stock Seymour Duncan and harness that it came with. I still have it but i prefer using my Brent Mason tele now

I shook Jezzer's hand in NY once. The man had one of the firmest handshakes ever I've eperienced.

John McLaughlin also worked at Selmer London - a few years before Jerry.

why is there so much buzz on the lower strings? is he picking really hard?
@seymourduncan8 жыл бұрын
There is some buzzing there, combined with amp overdrive. He actually doesn't play hard enough most of the time to hear that buzzing.

I'm still in trouble understanding what fretking guitars he actually plays on stage... JD or JDD (both have "JD" on headstock...) :) . theo one in this video seeam a JDD, not a JD... I'm getting mad :D
