16 years ago today, I'm surfing in Santa Cruz at Arches. Finish the set, load up, and there's a convoy of psychedelic school buses heading up Highway 1 - dozens of them. Strange. Never seen that before. Jump in the car. Heater on. KFOG on - Jerry's passed away, so I joined the convoy and headed for Golden Gate Park. I'll never forget that evening celebration of a life well lived. Thank you Jerry for all the music, which will never stop.

From Bob’s cerebral cortex to Jerry’s mouth, down on to his fingers from Heaven. The key is they never discouraged "tapers" and actually would allocate space for them at times. So it was freely allowed. And now they can be even more easily shared. Cool how the this band that was the most touring band (by far) of their key time, allowed taping and the result is we have all this material. So glad it was these guys. Not that their practice stopped anyone else from doing it. But their "wide-open-ness" gives us our big-ass smiles.

I was living at that moment on a little island in the mediterranean in a cliff watching the inmense horizon of the sea, surrounded by the sounds of nature and music, feeling part of the earth, truly conected with her and with my dog partner and protector, a little black cat from the wild which was my best friend those years, the bees, flowers, gigant cactus, tall beings named trees, playing with the mud...oh...and the night sky of course... magical, healing...then the sunrise came and it was like a painting. i never had another trip like that and i think that music helped a lot...i listened to many artists on that trip but the best to trust were jerry garcia and grateful dead! their music seems made for trippin hahaha so peaceful
