Just made a fine lasagna watching/listening to this show. I was there, 19 years old, stage right, spun out of my mind, my first JGB show. I couldn't believe the lot at Nassau was packed as much as a Grateful Dead show would've been. Weir/Wasserman set was great, Jerry blew me away, tore through every fiber of my body and mind. Met my wife at a show, a house and two kids later, I owe it all to Jerry, really. Meeting her was a simple twist of fate. Love you Jerry, roll around heaven all day!

Weir Wasserman opened a JGB show? That's so cool, I'd have been waiting for him to come out and play with his bro. I had tapes of these 89 JGB shows in high school (1990-92) and BOY does hearing this one take me back to then, when my older brother took me to my first dead show (RFK 90) then my first JGB show (Caps Center 91) then Dead at Caps Center March 92.... then there were many more after that during and after college. Listen to this, just remembering all the adventures he and I had. I'm 49 now and he passed away a couple months ago at 56. It just kills me. But at least I have the memories

Some nights he wouldn’t hold back and he’d play to the heavens. And on a few of those night I think the heavens would actually stop and listen.

Dear Prudence and Tangled Up in Blue are my all time favorite covers done by Jerry Garcia - SO MUCH FUCKING SOUL and AMAZING TALENT poured into the two songs each time they're played.

Saw them at merry weather post at the beginning of the tour and was blown away. Had seen the dead prior to that numerous times and had no real expectations about jgb but left those two shows shaking my head saying holy shit....they were fantastic....Jerry was on fire in 89 both with the dead and jgb. It was a pleasure to be a part of it.

My 1st JGB was in '89 as well. Less than a month after my first GD show at Irvine, he played SDSU Open Air Amp, literally one mile from my house. I was 15 & just beginning my journey of 75+ GD shows & approximately 30 JGB shows. Best years of my life.

Wonderful matrix veteran head saw many gd and jgb shows 77 to 94 and had this one on vhs for a while in the early 90's. Disdain media in general but you posting this is worth the view. Was a great time to catch Jerry or the Dead. Personally partial to the south, Freedom Hall, Omni, Greensboro, Norfolk, but what a smoker this is. thanks thanks thanks

Love everything about this recording and video Kevin Thank you Whose not taking about the rocker at the end of the show...:: Payday is coming when the work is all done.... That’s something I had not heard before this show I don’t believe Yes there’s so many other great ones too But that guitar and that keyboard and that jam is an exceptional rocker to wind down a show in my opinion And I am surprised to have not see comments yet If anyone has more detail on that song ...history w jerry and this show I would love to learn more In the mean time let’s keep listening and keep jamming out each and every day... this music is eternal... Thanks again Kevin

Just a tremendous effort, thanks, 3 audio sources! It's amazing what people are doing, utilizing camcorder video in it's earliest stages, before mini-DV and good small camcorders. You don't give the "percentages" of the final mix, but the fact you use (some) of the hi8 audio is interesting. The specs look good, some of those early cameras had decent internal mics (I had a TRV-900 w/manual gain). The video "is what it is," a great early document, but the audio is special.

Jerry loved music so much that he couldn’t b a family man or true to one woman because it was the music or drugs that made him that way but his heart was so big & had so much love in there that it was to much for one woman to take ? Plus how many times did he go to rehab ?
