@@jamescarr4662 I disagree. The movie made just above $40 million worldwide. It doesn't have a great "critic score" on Rotten and since its release it became neither a sleeper hit nor a cult classic. For such a good movie, I'd say it's definitely underrated.

I watched this when I was a little kid, and this theme has been stuck in my head for years. I would hum/whistle it from time to time without even remembering what it's from. I'm 27 now and have re-watched this movie recently, bringing clarity to the origin of this lovely tune. This track is the definition of beauty, honestly, and I am a big fan of Anthony Hopkins, especially his portrayal as Odin in the MCU. Now I know why I like him so much, it's probably because of The Edge :D

I always loved it, but honestly despite how great this is, I have heard more amazing scores. The thing I love about them though is how it can give you so many different feelings without needing any words. A lot of people think I'm crazy because I prefer movie scores over music with words. Haha.
@CapitalJ210 жыл бұрын
***** i prefer instrumental music in general. So I dont think your crazy. and I definitely heard better scores too, but like i said, I think this one just gets overlooked. I just forgot about it. My fav scores are from movies like Pirates of the carribean, Inception, x-men first class, beowulf, star wars, jurassic park 1 and 2, avengers, video game Gears of war 2 and 3, crimson tide, man of steel, dark knight, transformers, lord of the rings, balto, the edge

I also enjoy many from those as well! Hans Zimmer, Bear McCreary, James Horner, and Steve Jablonsky are among my favorite composers. The Perfect Storm soundtrack is probably my favorite. I like Bear McCreary because of his work on The Walking Dead.

It does sound a lot like "I don't Belong here" from the Time Machine...but it is still just a bit different. "I don't Belong here" gives you more emotion and a real "We are in a time machine going into the future" feeling. But this is the true masterpiece...it gives you the true grand feeling of the wilderness. If you ever visited or lived in the forest, you would know. This song matches it perfectly. Never the less, they are BOTH AMAZING tracks.

time machine sounds like it's going "into" the future just because it adds some shitty synthetic arpeggios on strings. it probably took badelt forever to realize his ripoff didn't work until he also copied the synth/harp/flute ostinato. and he probably still has no idea why that makes the song work either.... goldsmith knows...
