Joe Namath had a rather small nightclub in Ft. Lauderdale called "Bachelors Three" back in the 70s. Went there with friends to see Jerry Lee in '72 or '73. One friend idolized Jerry Lee and gave the maitre d cash to seat us near the piano. Somehow I got the seat next to the piano bench. Jerry Lee came out drinking one of those little 6 1/2 oz. glass bottles of coke, I stuck out my hand and got a firm handshake in return, and then he put on the show of a lifetime. When he jumped up to butt the piano bench out of his way I had to jump up and move my chair. He really was a legendary performer.

I knew you would like this song, like you said you can't help but move to it. Jerry Lee was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame October 16th, 2022. 12 days later he passed away. Hank Jr, who also inducted Jerry Lee into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, inducted him. He said "Jerry Lee doesn’t walk on stage and politely thank an audience for being there, No, yeah Jerry Lee doesn’t ask for your attention, He demands it. He doesn’t take a stage he commands it. "

I may have mentioned this to you...Jerry Lee and Elvis only lived about 9 miles from each other...they knew each other quite well. the day when Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Elvis happened to be at Sun Studios someone took a picture of them(it's still hanging on the wall at Sun Studios)...and it was dubbed...'the million dollar quartet'. Jerry Lee is(in my opinion) the VERY best Rock-a-Billy piano player EVER.

Years ago, my sister and her classmates did a play called "Rock Around The Clock" and one of the young men performed this song. It was a blast!! BTW my sister performed "One-eyed, One-horned, Flying, Purple, People-Eater" and "The Monster Mash"! She was great!

Chantilly Lace is a song written and performed by The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson). The Big Bopper along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens died on February 3rd, 1959 when their plane crashed on the way to Fargo, North Dakota. “The Day the Music Died.”

Jerry Lee was the best one to take up the Big Bopper’s popular song, if anybody could perform it half as interesting as he did it’s the Killer.
