"You Win Again" is a 1952 song by Hank Williams. In style, the song is a blues ballad and deals with the singer's despair with his partner. "You Win Again" would peak at number ten on the Most Played in C&W Juke Boxes chart, where it remained for a single week. Late in 1957, Jerry Lee Lewis released the song as the B-side to "Great Balls of Fire", his version of the song peaked at number four on the country chart.

Whatever his private life was like, the man was an absolute VIRTUOSO on a piano keyboard. It was like the keys were a part of his body. I especially love how he makes spirited crossover moves with his left hand while playing the melody with his right. Not a single note wrong, and done with humor and panache. Best damn honky-tonker around; I had the PRIVILEGE to see him in Dollywood back in the '80s along with Little Richard at a 1950s concert at the park.

He recently gave his heart to the Lord and performed a few Christian songs with his cousin Jimmy Lee Swaggart I guess it goes to show it doesn't matter how you start out it matters how you end up Hallelujah 👏👏👏🙏🙌🎤🎹

Little has been said about how great he was on the piano. As he once said, when he sits at the piano, it's gold, pure gold. What is really cool is he rarely plays anything the same way. He's always improvising and adding flourishes. That's the mark of genuine talent and a love of what he's doing.

What makes it even cooler is he's playing that on an old upright. Those pianos just have that good 'ol down 'tinkly' country sound that the grands don't! Especially on the high keys! No doubt the type that he learned on as a kid growing up in Depression era Louisiana.

It doesn't matter how much today's over indulged instant 'artists' dress themselves scruffy or neat, use Autotune to iron out their weak vocals and expensive backing musicians and singers to puff up their act. Or use expensive video, audio and lighting technology & techniques and trendy directors plus plastic surgery, stylists and make-up teams to enhance their looks, sounds and presentation --- not one of them can ever put on an impromptu performance with just a regular piano, mic and a camera and make it a masterclass in performing art -- and real live Rock 'n Roll like JLL. With the barest minimum Jerry Lee Lewis has got it ALL. Let's make sure he knows how great he is and how much he's loved and appreciated before it's too late. Jerry Lee deserves all the love in the world.

Only realised how Great Jerry is about 20 yrs ago.I am 75 yrs old and he is up there amongst the very best.I will never forgive myself for not seeing him in concert when in his prime. He makes any song "his own" just listen Detroit City and Green Green Grass Of Home, both convey and express the Lyrics in a super way.Of course The Beatles and other British Bands "hugged the airways" and perhaps I may offer this as a reason for my past. Now I play him most days and spread "the word" to others,so they can experience this Great artist.Apologies Jerry Lee,your song "Fools Like Me" could perhaps referring to me. When I need a quick country “fix”’, I always play this one. I especially love the jam session, informal format, right in Jerry Lee’s living room, I’d guess. Hank sang it well, but JL and his piano takes it to another level. And, then there’s Dick Clark in the room, along with Cousin Mickey Gilley.

At @1:35 in the video when Jerry plays those high chords, I swear I felt those chords hit the core of my soul in a way that it was as if the sound was a loud calling out of sadness and asking the question, "Why'd you have to hurt me like that?" as if it was a Jerry's own soul came out briefly in those 2 brief "call out" chords. An absolute classic example of how great a pianist and musician Jerry truly is and a true artist knows to play from the heart and carry the emotion of the story in the music they play. Genius at work and a rarely talent right there 😎 👍
