I met JERRY LEE LEWIS one afternoon back in 1983 through a friend of mine who was a fork lift driver at MGM Studios in Hollywood when Mike Nesmith (of the Monkees) was filming and producing a video on Jerry Lee - It was a real experience as I shook hands with The "Killer" along with his 2 great master guitar players Kenny Lovelace , James Burton and the rest of the band - Then as we were all leaving - True Story - I swear - Jerry Lee Lewis just snapped and started a fist fight with me in the parking lot - I fended off his swinging at me by just moving away from him - It was stopped by his body guards - - Oh what a scene it was - I felt that he did not (at the time ) like my then obvious Elvis persona , HALLELUJAH -Joe Nania (a.k.a. "Hollywood" Joe)

I really hope some good interviewer would get to sit down with Kenny Lovelace for a few hours and save for posterity all the stories he could tell from all the years he toured with Jerry Lee and from when they were bothers-in-law. Kenny appeared a little frail at JLL's funeral, understandably so, and hope something gets done before it's too late. Same with child bride Myra Brown who's story should be gotten down.

I saw Jerry Lee @ the New York Paramount 1959.(I think that’s when & where it was). I mean definitely in New York City. In any case, I was 11 years old, & I remember it like it was yesterday. One of the best shows I’ve seen & I’ve seen many. Jerry Lee was a master, constantly moving, energy personified, jumping on his piano & dancing. His music, his rhythm was unbelievable. He had everyone out of their seats in the aisles dancing with who knows & who cared. I was young to be there but my older sister & brother wanted to go so badly & for them to go they had to take me along. Glad I went. That’s called luck. Concerts should be a part of ones youth. It’s a happy time with a favorite & unique person you’ll be able to talk about the rest of your life with a smile. Gosh, he was good.

60 years ago. OMG. I saw it in real time...10 years old. We didn't even have TV...but somehow I saw it somewhere. I think it was the little old man at the end of the block. He had a tv/picture screen that was the size of a small computer screen. We saw Howdy Doody, too. That's what my parents thought we were watching all the time....LOL. Mr. Shields...still remember his name...was pretty cool. Oh, and Elvis was taboo because of his sexually suggestive hip swinging...Oh yeah. They didn't even know who Jerry Lee Lewis was. Gotta say, I love the debut on Steve Allen. I think I could cry it's so good. And I really like the Shindig! 1964 (comeback?) appearance. There's something awfully spooky about that show to me. He is on fire! Not sure if it's he feels he has something to prove, and/or both, he's on speed and extremely confident, almost to the extent, he's over, above and beyond the tv appearance, been there, done that, and he pulled out this new kind of bravado. It's sexy. (maybe Jack Good was providing him with Go-Go dancers after the show? LMAO ) Cheers.
