Jerry Lee Lewis is one of those artists, so rich that every time you listen to them again after a pause it hits you like the first time. He was a vocal master in several genres, rock'n'roll, country, blues, soul... and a genius autodidactic piano player. This song is one of his greatest vocal performances, just not the best version of it out there. He has a place among the greatest musical artists.

One of my favorite Jerry Lee's songs. Also "Middle Age Crazy". I always loved "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" , but when I heard Jerry Lee sing it I understood when he said "why oh why can't I"

One of the first songs he recorded when he left rock for country. If memory serves me right, the song was written by Mickey Newberry. I was a kid back then circa 1968.

Jerry Lee played Country just as well as he played Rock 'n Roll, both in ballads and up-tempo numbers. The left-hand solo in 'You Win Again' is fantastic. I greatly prefer his covers of 'You Can Have Her' and 'Games People Play' to the originals and even other covers.

Wow, just goes to show that even if you think you have listened to alot and at least half know your musical history... you really haven't and really don't. :-D I never new Jerry Lee Lewis did this. To me this has always been a Mickey Newbury and Kenny Rogers song. :-D But I know how it is, you hear a first version, and then perhaps miss others.
