I love this movie. I think Cruise should have won Best Actor for it.

I'm glad Scott did this, this film doesn't enough credit for just how beautifully written it is. I would say Almost Famous is probably Crowe's best film as a director, but I think Jerry Maguire might be his masterwork as a writer.

I dont see it as Jerry having a psychological breakdown and never have. He gets f***ed in the a** by the odious Bob Sugar after having an attack of conscience and writing a mission statement. He struggles to regain his respect and digs deep to ultimately win the day. Brilliant script and perfectly cast.

It wasnt bob sugar that decided he had to be let go, but yeah he stole his clients.

Wow, very solid review, and straight to the point!! Only after watching the entire thing I realised it was uploaded 10 years ago, but it still holds up pretty well!

Jerry McGuire is probably my FAVORITE Tom Cruise movie, then Rainman, followed by A Few Good Men.

I like Cruise as well, but I've ways thought of him more of a movie star than a great actor. But I always felt he has that potential

Best performance by Tom Cruise? He’s a movie star in every sense. Both good and bad. He’s awesome in this role!

@CosmoHunter24 Tom Cruise is an actor with tremendous range. What are you talking about? I've followed him from Risky Business to Top Gun up to the present. In two years, he would have been making movies for 30 years. So much for your limited range argument.

Did he even watch the movie? Who is "Dorothy Ryan"? The name "Dorothy Boyd" is said (by Maguire) several times in the movie. Jerry Maguire: You're Dorothy Boyd in Accounts. JM: Dorothy Boyd, thank you. JM: Dorothy Boyd, you are with the Lord of the Living Room. JM: Good evening, I'm looking for Dorothy Boyd.

I think Cruise is smarmy in this movie and I don't believe his character arc at all. There. I said it. Feels good to get that off my chest.

Kath Morris of "Cold Case" and Lucy Liu of "Kill Bill" have bit parts in the film.

@CosmoHunter24 It is possible to be both a good actor and an actor of "limited range" (see: John Wayne)

@CosmoHunter24 --- He's good if he has a good director behind him. If he doesn't he lurks behind his movie star facade.
