We should all be very concerned about the current unlawful immigration entry rate. I’m sure most of us are accepting of lawful immigration and expect them to contribute to society because failure to do so is abuse and manipulation of our citizens. I absolutely understand why they are desperate to get citizenship and I would likely do the same if my family was in danger and ruled by a dictatorship. If taxes are the cost of living in a civilized society then I think it’s fair that the resources are used appropriately while prioritizing the prosperity of the people who live in this country. I don’t oppose the pride flag but I do have an issue when it replaces the flag of our nation and cannot be found on site. Fly all the flags but I do expect that preference is given to the flag that represents everyone in this nation. I am proud to be an American because I have faith in my fellow countrymen. It is not due to the current and past political representatives who infringe upon the rights of its citizens. I have faith in the Constitution and its ability to resist one party from gaining and maintaining complete control over its people. I have faith in the American spirit and the common values that we all share. We have many shared values but the path to achieving the goals differ. Most people want to live freely and be able to choose how they live their lives. Most want a healthy and thriving family that has enough money to be financially independent and want the same for their neighbors. That’s the American way and a pride flag represents a once scrutinized and rejected portion of our society who only recently received the same recognition as heterosexual couples. Fly the pride flag with the American flag but under no circumstances should it be removed solely for the purpose of representing a small minority of people. The American flag represents everyone, gay, straight, black, white, Christian or atheist. We do need the return of sensible resolution that is founded on objective and rational reasoning. The silent majority still exists and has a strong foothold on our nation. They just aren’t portrayed in the media outlets which have become more extreme and divisive. Most people just want to be left alone and keep the money they earned in their pockets. They also expect others to attempt to provide for themselves and contribute to our society. Understandably, people experience devastating circumstances and may need some assistance to get back on their feet. However, we do have some who purposefully and deliberately abuse the system and are rewarded for their poor behavior. It is not the responsibility of the citizens to provide for those who routinely abuse the system and certainly those who demonstrate little to no effort to correct the situation.

I had that same conversation with my neighbour recently. She was in near panic mode about the possibility that Trump might win this next election and how horrible that would be, I don't know how the US will ever survive.... And I said "he was already the President for four years, the world didn't end. In fact, those 4 years were pretty prosperous and several good things happened. There was no war in the Middle East, Russia didn't invade the Ukraine, the economy was great, black unemployment was at an all-time low, immigration was under control. what was so horrible?" and she says "well there was voter fraud and what about that attack on the Capital, the insurrection?" I said it was just a protest the the media describes as an attack on the Capital. Way worse stuff happened in Seattle and Portland and Minnesota and the media virtually ignores that. I don't really understand what the big panic is.... If he gets back in, he can only be in for four years and then it will be over. It's not like he'll stay in power for 20 years or whatever.
