To all of you saying you will lose your water proofing. Yes, you will if you use tape to put the back on again. BUT, if you buy actual adhesive glue rated for water proofing, you CAN retain your water proofing AS LONG AS it is applied properly, which can be tricky. It is possible considering they come this way and you can buy the same adhesive glue they use in the factory. You can even buy better stuff then they use.

That's actually a very good point. You know what now lies directly beneath the glass? The Battery! Yeah, be careful. get a very strong clear case. I'd recommend UAG ice as it will protect it but you can still see the insides.

hey, a question. I also have an Xperia Z3, it was secondhand when I bought it. I once replaced the battery with my own hands, but the backdoor flexes and could bend like plastic, not stiff like glass. Is it possible that it had been replaced with a non-original one by the previous owner?

Actually these original sony back glasses are not really hard stuff so they bend quite much reason why sony use softer back glasses than Samsung is that they are more durable. And if you boy replacement back glass from China it will be super hard and first drop then it probably in million spieces.

I just wanted to clear things for some people. 1. This voids any warranty on your phone 2. You'll lose any water resistance once you remove the stock adhesive (if it had any) 3. No you cannot light up the logo like on an iPhone 5/5s since you replace the metal Apple logo within the phone for a plastic one that lets light through. 4. If you have to ask if they make a clear glass back for your phone they probably don't. 5. If you ask why they don't here's your answer: Only well reputable/known phones get custom parts like this ( search iphone color housing on google). 6. No they do not make a front clear glass panel, there'd be no point since all you'd see is glue/plastic 7. No they do not make glass backs for your One Plus X, Sony Xperia, etc. You can google it but I doubt you'll find anything 8. Don't ask Jerry if they make a clear glass panel for your phone, he doesn't care. 9. Search Google if your phone has clear glass/housings 10. Search Google ya lazy bums, don't depend on people to look for the answer because you're lazy.

Mine didn't come off nearly as easy, but once I was able to establish far enough in, it all came off in one piece. The bottom ⅓ of the sticker came of in fragments about ½" long by ¼" wide, and that included heating it and getting under it with a blade. There wasn't any middle ground either; it went from those tiny shards to one solid piece. Actually, the only reason I even did this at all was to remove the AT&T globe where the Samsung logo should have been. If it said T-Mobile or Samsung, I probably would have just left it alone. The back story is that I ended up getting every scrap of use out of my Note 5 before I bought a new phone. The screen was cracked, the rear glass was shattered and the battery was so badly bloated that I had to keep the phone in an OtterBox Defender case just to keep it together in one piece. The phone locked up and none of the buttons responded, nor did the sequence to boot it into recovery mode, so I pulled the SIM card, put it in an HTC Amaze 4G, ordered a Note 10+, waited for the battery to die so it would shut off, charged the battery, replaced the SIM card, stuffed it back into the OtterBox and used the phone for another five days while I waited for the new one to arrive. About a month went by, and it started bugging me that my newest backup device was made in 2011, and since there was nothing wrong with the majority of the Note 5, I ordered a new/used digitizer and midframe assembly for it. The guy threw in two OE batteries, the S-Pen and the rear glass cover. The only digitizer in good condition he had for T-Mobile was white, and his only white covers had either a globe or a check mark on them. Honestly, I'm surprised I let it go for over a week like that since I don't have AT&T. All this for a phone that in all likelihood will probably spend the majority of the rest of its life sitting in a drawer. Anyway, the first video of yours that I watched was the teardown to replace the battery, which was very helpful after I got past the part about removing the cover. Even though mine was already shattered, I watched it anyway, just so I would know how to remove it if the need arose again.

I'm guessing that film is there for a reason more than cosmetics.. Such as preventing the glass from shattering into a million shards in every direction. Does look cool though. Need to find a clear carbon fiber or bullet proof custom back.

I did that to one my friend gave me, it's a lot of scraping. There's not much to damage inside, just don't let the razor go too deep inside. After that it's a long while of scraping the paint off. (Paint thinner will help)

Try soaking the back glass in Isopropal Alcohol for 1-2 hours before you remove the color. It will give a very small risk of breaking the glass. for me it all came off in one go. Took like 20 secs. You also dont need any tools for it.

Dose the double sided tape make it water proof or will I have to buy special glue for that. I really want to do this as I have a gold one and hate the colour. The shop I got it from only had the G930A the USA version in black with snapdragon or the G930F UK version with Exynos in gold. I did get the black one at first. I didn't couldn't tell the difference just by the look. I had a play with it and knew something was wrong it was slower that it should have been. The phone shop had tried to hide the fact it was the usa version they had some strange version of android that wouldn't let me update the software at all. They somehow changed the specs to show the UK version specs but thanks to geek bench 4 it showed me the real specs. I took it back to the shop and they knew they had been busted. First they wouldn't trad it for the UK version I paid £240 for just the phone and charger. It took me 6 months to save as I'm on disability benifits. I then said OK I will just give trading standards a call for selling a phone with fake or manipulated software. So they happily changed it. Obviously it was pakies. I have aspergers syndrome and I live my tech it's one of my obsessions. I always take every bit of tech I have to see what's inside and how it works it fascinating. I always fix my own tech if I can. Before I had an S7 I had an s6 and broke the screen I have taken it to bits successfully but the hardest thing was getting a genuine screen for it it would of cost me £190 for a genuine Samsung screen so I just upgraded. Again with the s7 it's hard finding quality genuine parts like replacement glue.
